Soo...

I have this stock skid plate that no one seems to want...

Got me to thinkin' (always a problem)...

Has anyone fabbed anything useful with one of these? How about other "leftovers"?

I've got:

Worn TJ springs
Stock control arms
Stock track bars...

and so on..

Looking at the control arms, I was thinking maybe they could be welded into some kind of stand, where the bushings would take up some vibration. Just can't figure what kind of stand I need...

Or a 4-link trailer? Hmm...on coils...?

Anyone out there more creative than I putting thier junk to use?

Roger

I used my stock sway bar links and turned them into exhaust hangers. I welded one end to the exhaust then with the other end I put a bolt and connected it to the stock rubber end. that's about it.

Brian,

When I looked at this at work I didn't get the pics (firewalls and all that funs stuff)...

Now that I see those, I believe you truly pretty much nailed it in your response...

That's some creative stuff...

Not going to ask what the inspiration was :)

I have always wanted to take a pair of springs and weld "shoes" or some sort to the top of them and make... BOUNCY SHOES!!! I think it would be spectacular!

Hmmmm....I'm looking at springs...

and I'm looking at my "garage Nike's"....

This just may be a "must do". I'll stop off at Walgreen's for some Ace bandages as I know the end result of this kind of experimentation! :skull:

Great, sigh...

I have coils and they have leaf springs...

I'm never on the "right" side of technology!!!! :aagh:

(actually, that's kind cool though...I've seen them in a catalog somewhere but never in use....wonder what they cost?

Okay...tally time: Brian has the best pics of recycled Jeep parts. Still no takers on what to do with a skid plate, eh? It's a decent chunk of metal...

May I'll carve up the flatter pieces for gas can carriers or the bottom of a cooler basket...
