The first day we explored about 4 or 5 old mines in the area and took in the views, today we did the wash right near the campground, not Calamity, and some did the off shoot where the gatekeeper is a jutting rock that will mess up the Jeep and then finished down the wash back to the road.

Not a bad day but nothing extremely hardcore.

Saturday after the parade, most of use headed north into the Bradshaws and checked out some mines.

They had to spin Roger around though as her winch control was acting up. She got out relatively unscathed, for Rachel that is.

This weekend I walked away with a new dent on the windshield frame to match the old one from Wickenburg 2 years ago on the other side doing a notch that I was almost able to make last year without gears/locker. The front fenders got a test too as they saved the hood from some wear and tear. I did mess up the safari top a little and the soft door but nothing I can't live with.

Overall I had a great time and I look forward to seeing some cool pics!

Thanks for posting the pics. We had a good time. The 3 obstacles were fun. Even though I was hung up for awhile. again thanks to all that showed. Want to say thanks to Chris for helping me out of the wedge and good luck on his move to either Washington or Oregon. Do not remember which one. Catch ya on one of your leaves.

Thanx for the organizational work. Had fun in the parade, and it sure looks like you guys had some fun on the trails... Was hoping to get out and run with you'all... BUT ... as you can see, "G-pa" was busy with other "thrill rides"...:o (seems besides these young-uns, I'm the only family member who can ride these without having "tummy" issues...:o

For anyone that is wondering what route we took, we went up Constellation Rd. through Sayer Springs. Here is a pic of the wash at Sayer Springs, you could see just the top of the windmill in the wash.

We then made our way up Slim Jim Wash to Black Rock Mine where we seen the burial site. We made sure to leave it the way we found it. We aint ghouls :skull:

We were 3 homies down but continued with 7 Jeeps and a Toy-uggy. We went through Corner Springs, Robert Springs and up to Crown Point Mine.

Somehow we lost Mark, and I dont get it because he was between Russ & I :confused: . When we all stopped at Crown Point, it took us around 15min or so to realize Mark was MIA. About a 30 min. later Mark found us and he looked petrified. He though he may have to eat his dog for dinner that night. Luckey for Penny, she was with us :laugh4:


This trip had to come to an end because a few wanted to head back and didnt know the way. The last stop at Crown Point Mine was about 2mi. (line of sight) from Isaac Bradshaws grave and almost to Copperopolis Mine.

We traveled 40 miles total that day, and on the way back (20 miles) it took us 2.0 hours with a stopped time of aprox 40 min., top speed of 38mph and an avg of 15mph.

The stopped time on the way back was so high because Kevin's Toy-uggy lost the water pump pulley and flung the water pump belt. 3 out of 4 bolts were missing so we robbed them off something else and put it back together. It worked out well.
