Hi Gang,
I just received this email... please keep an eye out. I'll ask Dave for a picture and post it.

Hi Joe,
I don’t know if you can help, but I had my 2006 Unlimited Rubicon stolen today. Do you ever post things like this so other Jeep-Heads can keep an eye out? If so, here is a description:
2006 Unlimited Rubicon – Bright Yellow
Plates – GOBEEGO
Bee decals on each side behind front tires, right above where it is stamped Jeep
Soft top
Stock tires and wheels, no lift
Thanks,
Dave Bendtsen

Dave,
I hope you get your jeep back. I thought these newer jeeps had a chip in the key that was needed to start the engine. Can you share the circumstances of the theft? Bummer. Goo d luck.

I think the chip key was standard on 2006 Jeep rubicons..Must have been a pro to bypass it?

I'm in north phx and looking. I HATE THIEVES! Sorry for the loss. I'm on week 3 of the mandatory 4 before the insurance will pay on my Jeep theft.

My 2004 is chipped, but I'm thinking seriously of adding some EXTRA protection!

Oh jeez, now I'm nervous. I have an '07 Rubicon Unlimited. I know they are pretty hot items. The dealers can't keep them in stock. I had to order mine. I always use the
AutoLock device. It's like the "Club" but attaches between the break pedal and the firewall. Seems to work pretty good but now I'm thinking about buying the "Club" for the steering wheel also. I'll keep an eye out for your jeep and pray that it is found and returned. I'd love an opportunity to stomp the thieving sob into the turf.

As some of you may know, I have a fairly nice looking and well equipped YJ (now in the shed awaiting and axle upgrade) that I have been paranoid about losing. It is open and I worry about loss. PM me if you are interested in the results of my research or better yet, call me : four eight zero eight one six four six five seven. I will share my research with you.

Hi Gang,
Not sure if anyone is still doing killswitch workshops; but I honestly believe this is one of the least expensive most reliable methods of making sure your Jeep won't be driven away... it might be towed by the thieves, but they won't drive it. As soon as I get a life back from new business and school, I'll start hosting them again if there is enough demand.

My neighbor got his Dodge stolen a few days ago...lucky him they found it. Funny as before that happened he almost had it stolen, they broke open the door and stole his wallet, he then talked about putting in an alarm, now he really is going to install it:D Lowjack or something.
Need it for my dodge:eek: it's so easy to steal I'm surprised it's still on my driveway.

Keeping an eye out down south in Maricopa. Shouldn't be too hard to miss.
Hope you get it back. These bastards need to be fried!

Hey All -
Just wanted to say thanks for being on the lookout. I didn't know so many Jeeps were being stolen until I logged on to this site. I almost wanted to issue an Amber Alert......
Good-Luck to others in the same boat. I'll keep my eyes peeled for yours too.

They should make a "Jeep" bait car. Obviously they would need to use one with a hardtop but I would love to catch those jerks. The jeep bait car would work soooo much better faster than the ordinary ones.
A rubi with tires/lift, park it in the area of these thefts... ASU/West side... And to put a camera in it! HA!

Hi Gang,
I just uploaded the picture of Dave's Jeep to the original post... unfortunately, it looks like every other stock yellow Jeep in the picture (which isn't the best shot)... It's the best we have.
By the way... if you haven't taken good pictures of your Jeep... you should do so... especially if they show the distinguishing characteristics of your Jeep (rock rash, decals, accessories, etc) that make it stand out.

My CJ7 was stolen from work, several years back. I ended up getting shot, getting it back (not worth it, believe me). But at the time, just a simple kill switch would have been enough to defeat the amateurs that stole it.
The alarm on my TJ, incorporates a kill switch, and the hood is always locked, when it sits at work.

Stories like this make me want to start carrying my HK around with me, even if it is a hassle to check it out of the armory everytime.
