I conceder the BLM a big problem when it comes to keeping our trails
open. Every time I go to a BLM meeting, I end up begging some BLM
officer to not take anymore trails away from me. And if you look at
the Earth Cookie web sites you see a common thread..... They all
say: "Thank God for the BLM."
Now I don't know about you, but I've never said....Thank God for
Francisco and the BLM. Do you see my point? And when was the last
time we won something from the BLM? Look at all the trails that were
closed this year at the Jamboree. I bet good money that next year,
there will be no Jamboree!
Francisco is a Greenie....pure and simple! He will go out of his way
to take pictures of something bad happing on the trails but will not
look twice at the good do. I for one am sick of it!
Did you happen to catch him talking about making the Table Mesa Area
a "fee only area." That's right folks! Of Franny boy wants to start
charging us to use that area....And you will not believe the people
on his side. More on "those" people at a later time.
So this next time you go to a BLM meeting and think that "they" are
the good guys........ You better watch your back!

So tell me, Exactly WHAT does the Tucson BLM (Francisco) have to say about
Table Mesa in the Phoenix BLM office jurisdiction?
Boy, if the VJC was only allowed delagates to the ASA4WDC, I wonder if we'd

BTW, as far as fee areas, you can thank California for that "Winning" idea.

Neal,
Neal,
You say you are not singling out a SC individual, but yet you don't want
either of these two people to come to the cleanup (because they are in
the SC and you don't like the SC). Whatever....
There was not so long a time back when I thought that BLM was on the
"opposite page" too. This was based on issues from the Tucson office,
namely Fransicso. Today, I was invited to go 4 wheelin' down in the
Safford area....by the BLM Safford Office Manager. He told me of two
particular trails that, to the best of his knowledge, rarely gets
traveled and (using his words) "can probably only be traveled with the
kind of rig you run". He went on to describe it as knarly (sp?) Sounds
promising to me.
I guess that is what I was trying to get across. It is OK to attempt to
forge a relationship with those that are not on the same page with
us....for I have found that some times the biggest difference is that we
are at the top of the page and they are at the bottom....hence, it is
easier to work towards the middle. :)
For clarification, if you are one of the people that throw beer cans out
of their 4x4, then yes, you are an *****hole. If you don't, then you do
not fit into the category of people I was describing in my previous
response.

Hey Stu,
The state and federal agencies are another issue by its self. I have no
problem with working with them. That is why I push so hard for people to
join ASA, United 4wheelers and Blue Ribbon. Its not that I am singling
out the SC individual, its more their association. They are on the
opposite page from us and the Gov. is in the middle. Thats just the way
I see it. I'm not an asshole, just someone who has extreme beliefs that
oppose the SC. In my approach to the VJC I was only trying to play
devils advocate. I apologize to those I may have offended.

Subject: Earth Cookies and the Coves........
Earth Cookies and the Coves.....I could give a rats *** less. The
Sierra Club, The Center for Biological Diversity, Earth First,
Autobahn Society, Green Peace, yada yada yada.....It's a different
head on the same monster! Chop off one head and another will grow
back. As long as these people in these groups can breed, there will
ALWAYS be Earth Cookies on this planet.
Another reason there are so many cookies factories, is money. They
solicit TONS of money from corporations. Solicit is really not the
proper word....Extort is really a better word. The Earth cookies go
to the corporations and ask for money. The corporations that give
generously, are not bothered by the cookie factories in matters of
environmental impact. BUT, if a company refuses to donate to
the "good cause" the cookie factory starts up it propaganda machine
crying foul......Saying anything and everything that could cause the
company problems with the EPA...hoping to get an investigation
started.
Look folks, EVERY company is probably doing SOMETHING wrong.......and
the EPA will find it. Soooooo, the companies pay/donate to stay in
the good graces of the wacko Earth Cookies.....i.e "Extortion."
Another thing that keeps the multi head monster strong is it's
religion. The most active and wacked out people in the Earth Cookie
world are the people that look at this as a fight against "true" good
vs. Evil. You might get a few drons to come to the Coves for a little
clean up, but you will NEVER crack the thinking cap of a true Earth
Cookie Borg.

Full time 4WDs have a differential in the t-case&.which is what allows them to be FULL TIME and not tear the t-case guts apart when driving on dry pavement, etc. They do NOT make full time TJs, unless you put a non-stock t-case in it.

All TJ's are "part time 4 wheel drive"... The only time that they are in 4 wheel drive, is when the xfer case is shifted into 4hi or 4lo.
The "dealer" (person) that he talked to, doesn't know what they are talking about.

A friend I work with bought a used 2001 (or 2002) and this past weekend went up to Four Peaks to test the 4 wheel drive. It is a 4.0L automatic. When he engaged the transfer case into 4Hi the Part Time 4WD light came on. The question is: Is there such a thing as part time 4wd in a TJ? He went to the dealer and they said that only TJ's back east have full time 4WD. Is this a load of crap or what?

Len,
Sorry I did not respond yesterday&.I got home last night at about 9:30. I didnt even get all of yesterdays e-mail scanned before heading back to it this morning.
As much as I would like to, I am going to be on vacation during that time and will be out of state. Sandee has requested that I provide some support in some other areas so if you or another person can attend, this would be great. They really do want our input. That does not guarantee that they will or can use all/any of it. But unless they hear from us, you can bet we wont get close to having what we want&.that is a sure bet!
I would be willing to pass along my input to who ever attends.

Hello all
With a few notable exceptions, the responses I've received have supported inviting the Sierra Club to attend the Coves Cleanup. The invitation has been sent........the ball is in their court. Whether or not they attend, individually or in a group, is up to them.
On a much more important note: I posted a message regarding a representative from our group being sent to the BLM round table discussions for their new management plans at the same time as I sent the Sierra Club / Coves message. I've only received one response to the BLM question. Did everybody else skip that one? Let's get some discussion going on that subject......I need to get in touch with Horyza as soon as possible to make sure that our group gets an official part in the decision making process.
So far, the nominations for the BLM rep (from the one response) are Stu and myself. Is this something you want to do, Stu?

Table Mesa in the Phoenix BLM office jurisdiction?
Boy, if the VJC was only allowed delagates to the ASA4WDC, I wonder if we'd

Neal,
Neal,
You say you are not singling out a SC individual, but yet you don't want
either of these two people to come to the cleanup (because they are in
the SC and you don't like the SC).

True, but the light should be on all the time and go off or change to full time when shifted to 4hi or 4lo.

Len,
I can change my vacation schedule around. I burned this week of vacation on building relationships with the agencies&.I guess it would be rather stupid of me not to put it into practice, right?
I will, however, need to depend on you and others in this group to help me out with things as the project progresses, etc.
