Yesterday I ran shotgun in DesertFab's buggy.
There was supposed to be 4 of us however a national club (Retired guys) joined up with us.
They were clearly told to expect body damage and a good chance of breaking something.
"Well, we will get to the trail head and see" :aagh:

A view from the ****pit :)

Now it gets fun, I told Todd that he had to finish this obstacle in 11 sec. I should have kept my mouth shut.... Todd nailed it and was pulling/pushing all kinds of levers, flipping switches in 11 sec. and rocking and rolling... oh I was in the buggy at the time.. :aagh: It was better than any ride at Disneyland..

"Oh we should have listen to them!"

Broke a link at the frame, Todd went to work and sparks were flying...(The weld held and had no more problems)

This is what made the sparks, (Really cool as it also had 110v for the angle grinder we used)

After the link was fixed most of the guys turned around and we were left with 5. It was pretty much easy going then. (I ran out of space on my camera)

A breakdown:
One broken axle
One broken link
Three beads blew
One wench solenoid went out

It was a cool run!
Oh when we got off the trail Todd put the metal to the pedal and wow!
My Jeep does not do that :(

Ya, it was one heck of a trail. The rocks were different than FJ and I was jealous that we don't have that type of trail on our side.

It was a long drive to get out there and we hit rush hour both ways but ran in the carpool lane so it was not that bad.

Die Hard is a blast, I have run it 4 times. Broke an alloy stub shaft once. A few incidents of "rock rash". Why didn't you drive Mike? You could make that trail.

Ya you guys have a great trail there!
The main reason I did not take mine is I have wires and air hoses hanging all over the place. (Installing a direct switch to the compressor, installing an Aux. Air tank)
Second is I had never rode in a buggy and wanted to see what that was like.

About half way I was really jonesing!

Ha ha at the "Krause out"!!!

Not quite...but still funny!

And yeah, Mike...you SHOULD have been driving your rig. That trail is serious good times, and a great challenge, for those of us in more "mild" rigs (mild in comparison to buggies).

Next time, right?!?!?
