FYI......

Campbell Hausfeld, of Harrison, Ohio, is recalling about 233,000 Campbell Hausfeld and Husky Air Compressors. Protective covers on the compressor’s motor are not made from proper flame retardant material and can ignite, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

The firm has received 11 reports of fires. No injuries have been reported.

The equipment was sold at home improvement and hardware stores nationwide from September 2005 through November 2007 for between $170 and $200.

For a listing of models and serial numbers included in the recall, visit http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml08/08181.html.

For further information, contact Campbell Hausfeld at (800) 241-0448 or visit http://www.chpower.com.

They can't win with those compressors. I have one of the earliest of those models and actually have a steel cage so mine can't catch fire. The problem with mine is it rattles like mad, to the point where I added some Styrofoam to mine...there fix to this problem was the plastic guard...which it sounds like, catches on fire. ;)

Ooops, saw the price range...mine was a lot more expensive than that so I imagine they're talking about units smaller than mine.
