The problem is AzVJC can't join. It is not an organized club with officers, dues, etc.. Which is what you have to be for a club to join ASA4WDC. The best you can hope for is for individual members of our non-organized club to join individually or join a ASA4WDC member club.

No need to change the VJC. There are plenty of clubs that are part of ASA4WDC. If you don't want to be part of an organized club, no big deal, that's your decision. The great thing about freedom is you get to make your own decisions based on your individual experiences, wants and needs. If the ASA4WDC lets say put together a Meet and Greet the club, where you could see and talk to people would you go? I think most would! Then maybe go and do a run with the club you think you might fit in with. It doesn't mean you have to give up the VJC and what it stands for. We all have something to offer the 4wheeling community, some may want to express it on a different level or other forums. Like Bill Mish stated, its what you bring to the table, not what your going to get.
Oh yeah, James no big deal, just no deals for you anymore!LOL

I agree with high exposure with a positive aspect. Adopt a Highway sounds like a good one. However, the more trails that everyone can adopt and keep clean, the easier our long hard road with BLM and Game and Fish and every other agency that we deal with will be. I find keeping the trails clean to be of more importance than opening the eyes of the general public.

The majority of the people against our cause are people who don't

Hello All,
Jason LaLiberty is leading a Raw Deal (Lower) trail run on Saturday, October 26, 2002.
When: 8:00am
Where: I-17 and Carefree Highway
Rating: 3.5+
Length: 4-6 Hours
CB Channel: 4
Hi there,
I would like to run both lower and upper. Also maybe going on to Table Mesa Rd. depending on timing.
I have been on this trail only once. Would like someone else to lead if they are interested. I do have directions on how to get there. Trail is easy to follow once you get to the trailhead.
Thanks,
Jason
Raw Deal is a short trail (1.2 miles) that begins and ends in a wash. It offers a little bit of something for everybody. Many of the obstacles can be taken with varying degrees of difficulty, and a couple can be bypassed. As is the case with many AZ trails, it is best if accompanied by someone who has ran the trail before. There are a few spots were a good spotter will be appreciated. The are several bedrock "cracks" to negotiate, as well as a few rock ledges, varying sized boulders, etc.
Remember to bring your camera and Water.
Enjoy and remember to TREAD Lightly!

A BIG thanks to Joe West for setting up and sponsoring the clinic today.
Everything went very well. We had TJs, CJs, YJs, XJs, and WJs. It is a great setup.
One bit of business that needs to be attended to though.
Joe purchased, from his own personal funds, several kits for people that asked him to do so but then never showed up or made arrangements to pay him. This is not right. If you ask someone to purchase something for you, at least pay for it. Right now, he is out at least a couple hundred dollars.
PLEASE - If you asked Joe to order a kit for you and did not make it to the clinic, please make arrangements to pay Joe for the kit soon.
Nuff said.

I contacted the Phoenix office to find out more about the
Adopt-A-Highway
program. Mark Schallio is the guy who issues permits (free of cost) and
tells you what areas of Highway are available for adoption. Check out
the
web page, looks like with all our members, it shouldn't be a problem. I
think it's a great idea. Maybe a poll is a good idea - gives some type
of
focal point to start with.

Yep. I called the Phoenix office to speak to the guy in charge, but he
won't be in until Thursday. There's a permit to fill out, but no fee for
it. Also, this guy, Mark Schallio, will be able to tell us what portions
are available for adoption.

I went to vote on the poll and realized I was unsure of which vote to cast.
Actually I just wanted to cast two votes. "Yes, I purchased an individual
membership" and "I don't know nothing about the ASA4WDC".
I joined the ASA in January of this year. So I am a newbie. Aside from the
welcome package I have never received any sort of correspondence from the
them. No email, no Wheel Dust, nothing. Thus I really don't have much of
an idea of what they are actually doing. I don't know if they needed help
with anything or money to fight the greenies. I have been through the
website a few times and it seems to be static. The bulletin board is like a
ghost town. I have even sent two emails that have never garnered a
response.
Are they simply not set up to inform and communicate with the individual
members and info is only sent to club presidents? Have I somehow fallen
through the cracks and am not recieving the info? I hope this is the case
and I am just out of the loop. If not and this is the normal way the ASA
functions I can see why the Jambo wasn't a success.
Can anyone shed a little light here?

First off... ROFLMAO (makes it hard to type also) What was the name
of the place David Withers flamed for not having good customer
service that sells lights and stuff? I want to pick up some round
LED lights for the back-o-da-rig. Didn't they also have a website
you can order from so I don't have to drive my lazy *** down there?
Sorry I just had to get at least one semi-Jeep related topic on the
board today! LOL :) Besides I can sum up the posts in a couple
seconds...
post: hey lets organize so we can do nifty stuff
most replies: hell no!
other replies: you guys suck
general consensus: yup we suck... nothings changed!
my opinion.... I love you guys!!! Who needs cable TV when you got
the AZVJC!!! :) -Rob

LOL
It was auto safety house, or something like that. Joey K. knows...
I have another place at the end of my LED write up
(http://www.dpgoffroad.com/tech/led.htm), you can compare to.

Go here: http://www.dot.state.az.us/news/school/adopt/adopt.htm
You dont have to pay another company to do the clean up.

the adopt a highway program is not as it seems.....you pay a fee to a company (I think around 5K) and they do the clean ups.....not the sponsoring person/group....

Kids shirt sizes are available for those that asked. Please send me

Yep. I called the Phoenix office to speak to the guy in charge, but he
won't be in until Thursday. There's a permit to fill out, but no fee for
it. Also, this guy, Mark Schallio, will be able to tell us what portions
are available for adoption.

Subject: Re: New poll for az_vjc
Craig

I thank everybody for your help, but I cannot get that ignition back in. If there is anyone that lives on the west side out by Avondale, that doesn't have anything to do this weekend, on sunday. I would appreciate if y'all could email me and help me. Thank you so much!

No... Auto Safety house is where you buy the little fold down steps for
your rocker and corner panel guards. The lighthouse is the name of the
place which sells the stuff that David Withers was complaining about.
<grin>
I think it's somewhere on the West side of town... bring your gun if you
decide to go down there.
