On Sunday I was leading a group and we were going to do Lower Ajax. We started in the wash just above lower woodpecker and followed it up and around to the road that at the time we thought was the road that forks off to the right that takes you to the cabins or straight takes you to upper ajax, H2H, and the exit to upper woody. As we started up the trail thinking it was lower ajax I kept thinking that I didnt recall any part of it being so narrow, as we continued up it got narrower in more challanging and I decided (group concincus (sp) to turn around.

Well we were correct that the road that we had past was the one leading from the turn-off to go to the cabins but we were one wash over by about 50 feet.

We had AzCharlie and Chuck Boyd with us and neither knew what trail we were on, the first big obstical you come to is about a 3-4 foot waterfall about 150 yards past the road then further up you come to a narrow spot that you have to straddle a notch for about 30 feet and right past that is a boulder garder followed by another waterfall.

I know, I know:worthless: but I think jeep4thefun might have some pics of the trail I will see if he can post them up.

But if anybody can tell me what or if this is a trail I would love to know.

We had some lesser built rigs and didnt know how hard the trail would get or where the trail would lead to but I do want to run it.

I did the google earth and found that wash. It looked like a long narrow wash with no real exit. It was a good thing that we turned around. Sorry I wasn't much help that day, next time I'll make sure to get more than 3 hours sleep.:aagh:
