Hi all! I'm putting a cb in my jeep and i can't decide where to mount it. If anybody has any ideas or experience where is a good place or bad that would be great too. I have a 93 YJ. Thanks for any input:)

Try under dash on passenger side or alot of people mount them up on the roll cage/bar,
if you have the newer smaller type CB you should be able to find many options in a YJ

not sure how much you want to spend try quadratec.com and do a search they have some cool mounts for cb and ant.

When I had the 89, I mounted the cb on the back of the factory console. Always a pain to have to install and uninstall if you did not want it stolen.

Now in the 91, I bought and installed the Tuffy Console II which has a slot for a radio to be installed. I made some brackets and installed. The radio is permanently installed and out of sight. Makes it a lot easier.

inside a tuffy console is the way to go, out of site and keeps it dry while hosing the inside out, or if it rains with the top off

mines up top. between the seats and before i noticed it .. it had worn two holes in my top (as shown) but the metal can be bent at the top so it doesnt do that .. and you can get all the materials at the hardware store.. then i have a small bungee that wraps around the roll bar that holds my mic. sometimes when i wheel i take the tiny bungee and hook the mic to the metal thingy on the middle upper part of the inside winshield. hope this all makes sense..? anyways ...good luck :smug:

Just make sure you mount the antenna where it won't get ripped off by a tree or a rock. Ask me how I know this :D

Thanks for all the input so far i like the role bar mount but i already mounted it under the dash. I might do that in the future. I mounted the antenna on the metal tire stop on back right side. Is this not a good place? If not where should i mount it? thanks

I currently just use the all in one Cobra CB. It twice as expensive and really isn't that great of a CB but the guts of the wiring are behind the dash and all I do is screw the plug to my receptacle on the dash when I want to run with my CB. The rest of the time I have my CB in my garage where it can't be stolen (only use the CB on the trail so figured I'd leave it out of the Jeep the rest of the time).

Like I said, it's not the best CB in the world and certainly not the cheapest... but it's an option. :)
