You should consider the regular TSL bias ply over the SXs. I dont think the SX's work as well, they are very stiff and dont seem to grap as well, plus they are heavier too.

Tougher sidewalls though, and need to go super low PSI to get them to hook up, so might need to consider BLs.

If you are still driving them on the street, think about Iroc bias plies.

Better ride quality then the infamous TSL or TSL SXs "paintshakers". Wear on the street is not horrible, but not great either. For a DD, the Iroc radials are a decent choice, but not really any stronger than a MTR in the sdiewalls. The bias are much stronger than a radial in the sidewalls. I know Glen does drive it like he stole it, that is why I suggested the Bias. And Interco tires are well priced for the tires you get, but are not the best bet for a DD. Even Maxxis Creepy Crawlers ride better on the street than a Swamper, but are about 50% more per tire or more.

thanks for the info... since creepies are out of my price range im having to settle for the irok bias. I guess anything will be better than the mtrs.

Yeah, I have heard about your MTR woes on UCD...........The Iroc Bias will be a big step up in toughness.

If it is a trailer queen, why not go for some great tires? Throw down an extra $400-$500 and get some "red lables" or Creepies. You will not regret it.

Get the Creepies and screw the cage! Unless you wheel a lot with Dennis, then you need the cage.

Are you looking for new or used? Are you looking for 5x4.5 beadlocks.

Yep, but no body to protect me. A cage is actually a vital part of any trail rig, and I would not skimp on protection. The SXs will do you right.

the sx's will give up some traction to some of the others but theyre indestructable and you wont need a 5th. just carry plugs in case a nuke hits near you. upgrade the tires later after all the rest is built.

If you start killing sidewalls on TSLs, Iroks, etc...then I would say the SXs would be a good choice, otherwise I would save your money, the unecessary extra weight and stiff *** tires and just get Iroks or TSL bias tires, they will be plenty strong enough for 99.9% of the time. just my opinion...

I've seen the Iroks that are on Hackles jeep and the sidewalls are pretty nasty... Of course, he is pretty tough on them in the rocks with his jeep. I'm going with the SX but grooving them in hopes to make them a grip better. My bias claws also have a very stiff sidewall but when aired down they flex really good. I'll see how the SX do.... if they suck then I'll quit the swampers all together go with a creepy or something like that.
