Hey all. I'm Caleb and I have an '87 XJ, which is currently out of commission. I've seen plenty of Jeeps with the virtual jeep club stickers, but never registered. I like anything that get's me outdoors, especially moutain biking. I can't wait to get to know all of you!!!:punk:

Thanks everyone.

Yes, Bill has been wanting to get over here, but it just hasn't worked out yet.

I've been into mountain biking for almost 2 years, and haven't progressed too much since I started. I mainly do any trails I can find/are capable of completing. I have an '06 Gary Fisher Bitter. Nothing fancy, but I don't do any fancy riding. There are some other bikes I've been looking at, but I'd rather spend the money on Jeep mods.
Here are some pics from some of my biking trips.

Ok, now my Jeep. '87, 3" mystery lift, K&N, American Racing Atlas wheels, and a sound system (which Bill and I think is the root cause of my problem) On day after the Jeep sat for about 3 days I went out and it wouldn't start. Turned the key and pure silence and it's been sitting even since. Then there is the exhaust system, which needs to be replaced before it will pass emissions.

What area of phoenix do you live in I'm pretty good with electrical problems and I know a pretty good muffler shop in glendale and they are pretty fair on there prices.

Welcome to the forum. For starters, you should sell the sound system and buy a new battery. :) With the sound system gone, you probably will have solved the drain on your electrical system and can start it. And you will be able to hear all of us on your new CB (did I mention that?) telling you where to put your tires on the next obstacle.....

Nice ride. I'd be up for a meet/ride sometime. I would give the specs of my bike, but I don't really know them. All I know is that it's a bike and I ride it. LOL

Well Dude
I have a bunch of junk in the truck ready to go. Tommorrow the wife is working, the son is going to the rage and the daughter is out with friends....I will prolly be there around 9:30 to play and we will ee if we can get the charging system checked out and the power drain gone...

See ya tomorrow, BTW, go to our forum and check the feb run, we will be doing the cleanup, you can ride with me if you want.

Also, we need to look at putting a tow bar on that thing, it will be easier than putting it on the trailer to move it around!!

just a thot!!!

Thanks to my superior electronics knowledge ( :p ) my baby is now running. The guy who did the sound system was just plain stupid, but we now have those dang sub's outta the back, and everything wired properly. Ironically, it sounds better without all the fancy stuff!! I no longer have an electrical problem or battery drain!!!! Oh yeah, Bill helped too. :smilielol5:

After that Bill took out the alarm, and then we checked the plugs. I'll replace them soon, but they are fine for now. We also put in a new rotor and cap. She was still running rough, so we jiggled some of the injectors and she smoothed out. Huge difference. Sooooo.......next time we'll look at the connections on the injectors.

The battery is currently sitting on the charger, so we still aren't sure if it's taking and holding a charge. If not, well need a new battery. I'd say we made HUGE progress today. It's the first time I've heard the engine in four months!!

Thanks Bill.

We still have to get some exhaust work done and get him thru Emissions. He was told he needs a new Cat and I do know the exhaust is rattley. Anyone recommend a good and fairpriced place that we can tow or trailer him too to get the exhaust work checked out and done as necessary.

I have a trailer to put him on if needed but he is also going to get a tow bar that we will mount to make it easier to get him places till it is leagal
