View Full Version : TJ Horn Upgrade dB?

Okay, before you all lay into me, I am well aware of how silly this request is.
However, the stock horn on a TJ just sounds like a sick puppy and I was wondering if anyone knew what the dB output was on it. Try as I may to find this on the horn itself or via manuals I have been unable to find the specs on this dang thing.
Once I know what the dB output is, I can look for a replacement with a beefier dB output...and no I am not interested in air horns that play Dixie or "Ooooga". Just something loud enough to alert the people I would need too.
Thanks.

I think Hella makes some louder horns that should be an easy swap.

At Kelli's new years eve run, several of the jeeps had the aoogha horn. I thought those were interesting and louder as well.

Yeah, that's what I was looking for, a .wav file so I could actually hear it.
Thanks.

How about one of these?! Hornblasters (http://www.hornblasters.com/video.php?pic=55)
These guys actually sell train horns that you can install in your vehicle. There are more hilarious videos on their site.

I've been looking at those for a while... considering I already have onboard air, it seems like a good accessory for it!
Of course, I'd opt for one of the more "tame" kits, not the 7-horn setup they use to terrorize people.
