2005 (Unlimited X) 2 door I/L 6
Anybody know what the weakness's are on this jeep? I found one for the right price and not sure of any factory issues with it.

they're great if you can get it. the weakness is, it is a wrangler, you should get a grand cherokee:laugh2:

I would say the 6-speed, many have no trouble with them...but of the newer Jeep transmissions it seems to be the most disliked. I would look for an auto if this isnt one.
Just my .02 cents...really the 6-speed should be adequate.
The only other weakness is the fact that it isn't a CJ. HAHA.

D35? Or D44 rear end? I am sure you have seen all the threads about busted D35 shafts lately. Other than that, get it and start the first round of upgrades.

He said "Unlimited X" so I am confused. I assume he means Unlimited which all come with a d44 rear...and if "X" is comes with a d35.

I own a 2005 Unlimited Rubicon and the only thing I would say is a pain is the radiator. I had to replace my radiator at 36500 and finding the radiator is a pain. In 2005 Jeep decided to try out a new radiator design and it failed so the radiator is different from all others.

I love my 06 unlimited with a 6 speed, It wheels great and rides better on the hwy for the long trips and can you say more room in the back. Also it was only made from 04 to 06 . Cant go wrong with it.

The upgrade I would and did make was a belly up on the transfercase, Most require a 1" BL and MML. Then depending on what kind of wheelin I would go from there....
The only weekness is breakover and departure angles.
Heres a link to the one I have available! Just reduced $20,499!! (http://virtualjeepclub.com/showthread.php?t=26307)
