umm ya so i own a pc repair service and ive had quite a few break in's on my jeeps and insurance said i should get a cage for back to lock everything in. so far its mainly been tools and what not. but i have 3 98 jeep grand cherokee and 4 03 jeep grand cherokees. i tried to google for a cage and all i get is roll cages. im looking for like a wire cage something thats go's around the inside of the whole rear area. not just a little dog fence to divide the rear and the back seat. ive been talking to local fabricators in chicago and i was stated around 1500 a vehicle so i was just wondering if anyone knew of any companys that already have rear cages. also id like them to be locking idk or if anyone is a fabricator im willing to drop the 1500 per vehicle since itll help lower insurance at this point. so anyhelp would be great thanks -nate

Only interior cage I've seen is this one:
http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?jeep-sid=288&plID=0&partID=3441

but its shown on a TJ. But would probabally work in a Cherokee, not sure what size you need though.

I've got the smaller Tuffy drawer in back, they also have one that's almost twice as high. Very good product. Several times I've found my Jeep had been rummaged thru, and they've never even tried to get into my Tuffy.

the tuffy looks good but i still need all the room to be accessible to still be able to fit the tool box's we have in the back as well as be able to fit computer towers. cause the latest break-in we've had was while on a call maybe 10 minutes and they broke into a jeep popped the back took 4 towers and a 3 foot tool box which was only in there to be moved to a new shop (some timing hey). i mean if there isnt quite a prefab-bolt on - snap together cage out there i can just buy and have some one install. then i will have them built custom or maybe invest in a new fleet of vehicles where its a easier option to buy (only vehicles ive seen with alot of options in this area is mostly chevys, hate to trade jeeps for chevys but ya thats a different topic of discussion). ima still go through the endless list of search results on google but if anyone knows im still open to figure out what to do. :) thanx -nate

idk i seen basically an example of what i want at a shop about 3 hours away that said they can make it and it was a full metal cage with a locking door. so when you pop the hatch theres a nice big door there that would take a little work to get through. only thing is theyd have to shorten the cage cause i believe it was for a tahoe WAH WAH WAAAAHH, so maybe get a few of them installed and then i might be able to pass with a couple of those tuffy boxes but i know i just wont be able to rely on them for all my vehicles. so basically this is one of those things where a company needs to make it for a jeep * hint* hint* wink* *wink*... but i guess since there isnt so many government agency with contracts to buy jeeps they dont really need pre fab cages? dang you chevy. for the few i did find which weren't for jeeps id basically have to ditch the back seats another big WAH WAH WAAAAHHHH... its like my insurance company knew it was gonna be this hard they might as well have said well lower your rate if you install a hayman magna vault in your jeeps hahah

ya thats basically the type of people im looking into but they have ones for chevy suv's that are nicer and a little more clean looking. i almost wish i had cargo vans to do all that into but then itd all end up wasted space and or more items that are able to be stolen out the vehicle. i already have the wire window screens on all rear windows + hatch but a 8 year old could rip them out and on one we basically ruined the jeep with metal screws and bolting them in but then they just smash the front windows and rip out the dog dividers. cause unfortunetly they dont make dog dividers with strength in mind. metal fence roll actually worked out better then a dog divider but it looks so ugly and tacky. but thnx any ways. i wonder how many times ive replaced the window on my 2 jeeps ive had since the beginning maybe every window besides windsheilds been replaced at least 5 times easy on my 98s if not more. sometimes they dont even steal anything and it looks like they break in to smoke crack and steal carmex (which i usually dont mind cause alot of times the crack heads just jimmy the door) saves 102.78 from the autoglass specialist. its kinda one of those things like construction sites they raid us as often as possible waiting for the day that they happen to find something worthwhile or something.... i can just imagine some of the people OH SHIOT A PENTIUM 2 THATS FAST with a 15" crt monitor I SCORED BIG SALLY and they start doing the SOULJA BOI hahahahah..

what? why do you say that..... was it the crack thing hahahaha cause forreal we had someone break in and all they took was tube of carmex and left a empty brillo box and a huge melted spot on the console?
just something about a jeep and the words pc repair makes them a target...

tommorrow in the light ima take some pics show you the row of smashed cars and the 98 that we um jerry rigged with wired chain fence blocking the back seat and the mesh on the window all bolted in. cause i just dont think chain link looks professional like you pull into a drive way knock on the door in a suit. like ya im the pc repair guy they look at the jeep and there like omg wtf and its like ya actually im afraid of the world going down resident evil style lets hope not... fingers crossed hahahahah but i like a clean jeep i was gonna get a new one and have it done as well cause them 08s look nice. not chain links either a custom cage

I think your best bet would be to get with Dave@desertfab and have a custom cage built to fit.
BTW, are you looking for any partime/contract computer geeks? :P
