That is really bad luck. I've heard of that happening with some Rhinos through the plastic floor... but really, that's only sheet metal on the Jeep so if you hit it just right.... that would definitely get your attention especially if you haven't had kids. yet. ;) I think I'm going to start wearing a cup when wheeling in the high country.

I wish I could have seen the tree before he ran into it. It looks like he drove right into the top of the tree. Maybe he was going to drive over the top of the branch, and it got hung up.:confused:

Anyway, he's lucky he didn't puncture an artery. The thread states that the log did 'poke him' (just not in the jewels) and that he went to the hospital.

10/4 ouch I did have that happen to my rhino but it was on the pass side when I was by myself and I diff. fixed that problem on both sides diamond plate sheet metal works wonders

Reminds me of the log that got stuck in my wheel well at Rausch Creek. I was going very slow, and I heard it hit the tub, so I backed up... which sucked it in further. Let all the air out of the tire to get it free.

Now that I think of it, a while back someone on JF posted pics of a guardrail that went thru the floorboard/firewall of his TJ in much the same way as the log above... luckily it came thru the passenger side because he was on the highway and pushed about 100ft of guardrail thru the jeep before coming to a stop. :eek:

I for one have ABSOLUTELY NO, as in ZERO... desire to see any gore posted here on what is supposed to be a Jeep forum...

Been at enough fatal vehicular accident scenes, and it is NEVER a pleasant sight...

For those that want to see it, have them come to your house to get grossed out looking on your screen... (cause some haven't got the self control or sense to not post such stuff on a family forum...)

It looks like the branch hit just right in that it hit where some cables or wires past through the firewall. But it still makes you wonder how fast was he going.

Not to worry. It isn't going to happen. And I hadn't thought about someone else posting it if i sent it. This photo was on the internet a couple of years ago and was freely distributed, so if it shows up won't be on me. The only reason the thought came up was that the tree top projecting into the car reminded me of this. Won't happen here.
