Adamester and Cronoh left a few hours ago and I just got a call at 3:02 pm that the Passenger front KNuckle on Adams is Busted... Does anyone have one complete? OR a trailer we can use to get him back. Ideally, it would be nice to have another person or two and some more tools to make the trip. They are safe and have water but no food, I am gonna have more info in a bit, If anyone has a any of the resoursed listed please call me Josh at 480-593-3245. ADAM also has his cell and gets ok reception. I know they need help soon because it gets F cold out there.... please let me know thanks!

Just past the firehole.

Broke a front cj D30 Knuckle if you have one bring it with the balljoints too.

his number is 602-459-6909 <-- adams number. He will stay on top of the hill for 15 more min then hike down and return in a bit.

He might need a trailer if no one has parts

Depending on how bad the knuckle is broke, getting it to a tow rig may be difficult.

You guys might want to consider going and getting him, or bringing him food, beer, and firewood for the night.

It's going to get dark and cold soon, tomorrow is another day.

You should try to get it tomorrow in the daylight and weld it up enough to get to trailer. It will be real cold real soon.

Good luck

The trailer is on the truck and the straps, chain and come-along are loaded. I can go out tonight or tomorrow, either way, I don't mind working late either. Tomorrow I have to help another member move a Wagoneer at 4:30 tho.

Aw man, we were out there all day today too. I just got home and read this, knowing Adam it will be fixed .003 seconds after the parts arrive. Let us know when you're back home Adam, wish we would have heard you on the cb so we could have helped.

Joe has been out there all weekend. Hackle called Joe about 4pm and Joe headed out to the trail and brought extra water and food to them. They started heading off the trail when they ran into ??? sorry can't remember who Joe said brought out parts:confused: and Adam went with them, Joe went back to the motorhome to call me. I think he might be going back out, but if they need Joe he is not to far.

Just got home. Yeah, they got the parts and were on their way back into upper when I left. I got some pics of the carnage, pretty amazing ti see a knuckle break instead of, well, anything else :p Anyways, I'll work on gettin' the pics up, it is very cold, luckily we collected a good amount of firewood and didn't burn even half of it by the time we left. I'm hopin' to hear from Adam later tonight, I know he has work tomorrow, and if he shows it would be after a hell of a night ;)

After making and receiving a bunch of calls, SteveO called me and said he had a steering knuckle and we made quick arrangements for pick up. Terron Greg is awesome he went out to meet Steve and I followed him out to FJ on the way I got a call from Allen and we all met at the Flag pole. After I aired down we started out and not 10 minutes off the highway we ran into Joe and Adam and Andrew, parts were traded, BS and some Pringles... Thanks to everyone who responded! AZLugs, Terron, SteveO, Allen!, Joe and many more! It is a real pleasure to be a part of this club, great people! Josh

Well I got home about 20 mins ago... I had to dethaw my hands/

The replacement Knuckle was complete with Ball Joints, I just needed to unbolt my Hub/spindle/rotor and put it on the new Knuckle. it took longer to get back to the jeep then it did to put it all back together.

I made it out with some tugging by Allen as I snapped both front axle shafts, and somewhere somehow, the AMC 20 held up to its reputation... I finally spun a hub on the axle.

so I basically made it out in 1 wheel drive.

Thanks Joe for coming out and bs'ing with us, keep warm next to the fire.

Thanks Terron, ( and girlfriend ) Allen, Josh, Andrew, and all of you here on the board.

I appreciate the help. Luckily I was able to get home for work tomorrow in 5 hours haha

Well I guess now I dont have much choice but to go to 1 tons haha with the lines I have been taking of the late.

I will have parts for sell soon, such as Dana 30 Locker and other stuff..

Again thank you

Good God that's alot of carnage! It didn't sound near that bad when everyone was talking about it. So are you going full width when you put on the 1 tons:)

Adam, the last time we ran lower and upper woody I noticed your rear axle making some popping noises when you were starting to drive into the wash on lower woody. At the time I thought it was your locker getting angry at you, now I wonder if it was the splines letting go? Anyway, glad you guys got out of there albeit late.
