Not if you are posting at Yahoo, there is only reply. They did not
leave an E-mail on the post so it does not show up on Yahoo.

Subject: Re: AX-15 problems on my 98 TJ
Actually, I believe that the fluid is supposed to be rated GL-3.
Regardless, there is a mistake on DC's part as to what fluid should
be in the tranny.
I first read about this problem a while back on JU. I was running the
Mobil-1 in my tranny for about six months. After I read about the
damage the sulfur content in the Mobil-1 causes on the brass
synchros, I immediately changed. I wanted to stick with a synthetic,
and had to settle with Red Line MT-90 which is a GL-4 rated fluid.
Even though it's still not the GL-3 rated fluid as actually
recommended by DC, Red Line claims that there is no sulfur added to
the fluid and that it won't harm the synchros.
Joe, have you drained the fluid out of your tranny yet? When you do,
be sure to keep it. Drain it and then put it into a clear container.
I found something most interesting when I drained mine. I had it in a
milk jug and after it sat in my garage for a few hours, there was
quite a bit of brassy looking particulate that accumulated at the
bottom of the jug. This is definitely something that can help you in
your case against DC should you pursue that route.
Also, Joe, if you're looking for a deal on a new NV4500 check out JB
Conversion's site. It seems like a heck of a deal on the whole
package:

You're right it is gl-3. Stu already caught me on the error of my ways. I
don't have an owner's manual or an FSM so I can't compare. I was told that
the typo was in the owners manual.

Hello all,
I just talked to Brian, he's the owner of the YJ.
It was a broken axle housing, busted in half. A couple of use used 2
racket straps and he limped back to LP.
He replace the housing and axles last night, he's ready to go again.
I'll pick up my straps and be ready for the next brake down.
I mention to him to use a small tire, he had 15" wide , he told me
those were his street tires and he had 12x12.50 over at his parents
house just didn't get them changed in time.

My new springs, shocks, tires, discos etc. came in so now starts the
install. Thus, does anybody have a spring compressor that I may
borrow for this weekend? The transformation from the grocery-go-
getter to a, well, taller grocery-go-getter has begun. Thanks

this morning @ 5 am or so me & my to boys Rj & Cj with their friend Tj was involved in a head on accident just east of 7th street & Deer Valley were the whoops are a drunk driver in my lane hit us as we crested the hill never had time to do or say anything just seen lights the lights out
My youngest son was pinned for awhile until rescue used the jaws of life to free his legs
no one suffered serious injury's just a few stitch's to the front & back off head
the other driver works in the states but is not a legal resident he was not wearing his seat belt
so he had some windshield for breakfast along with all the beer the cops also found some drugs in his car
the jeep is a total loss pics. soon to follow

I'm not being a smartalec, it's just an FYI. Autozone loans them. The
process is simple, you go to the counter, ask for it and the ring it
up as a sale, when you are done just take it back and the do a full
refund. If you decide to keep it, you just don't take it back. - Jose

Not if you are posting at Yahoo, there is only reply. They did not
leave an E-mail on the post so it does not show up on Yahoo.

It would be a good thing if the vendors or who post an add list all the info
such as email, phone, specs, conditions, time of use, gears, ratio, and so

Much easier to buy if you have info about the product,

Subject: Does anybody have a spring compressor I may borrow?
My new springs, shocks, tires, discos etc. came in so now starts the
install. Thus, does anybody have a spring compressor that I may
borrow for this weekend? The transformation from the grocery-go-
getter to a, well, taller grocery-go-getter has begun. Thanks

Just wanted to start off saying everyone is just fine & thanks for the prayers & the support
well what can I say the AZVJC lost a jeep but not a member or loved one
this morning @ 5 am or so me & my to boys Rj & Cj with their friend Tj was involved in a head on accident just east of 7th street & Deer Valley were the whoops are a drunk driver in my lane hit us as we crested the hill never had time to do or say anything just seen lights the lights out
My youngest son was pinned for awhile until rescue used the jaws of life to free his legs
no one suffered serious injury's just a few stitch's to the front & back off head
the other driver works in the states but is not a legal resident he was not wearing his seat belt
so he had some windshield for breakfast along with all the beer the cops also found some drugs in his car
the jeep is a total loss pics. soon to follow

I'm looking at getting a K&N filter for my ZJ (V8), does it really
make a difference in performance/mileage?. All comments/suggestions
are appreciated. - Jose

I'm not being a smartalec, it's just an FYI. Autozone loans them. The
process is simple, you go to the counter, ask for it and the ring it
up as a sale, when you are done just take it back and the do a full
refund. If you decide to keep it, you just don't take it back. - Jose
