Subject: Uninsured Motorist coverage Was:Re: Re: Fw: Jeep

Uninsured motorist coverage is a bodily injury coverage. The Jeep cannot be repaired or replaced with that coverage. Now if Rick and his family were injured and the other driver had no insurance then uninsured motorist coverage could apply up to the limits purchased. Health insurance obviously would cover any injuries as well. To cover physical damage to the Jeep in the event the at fault party had no insurance one would need Comprehensive and/or Collision coverage.

Disclaimer: This is a basic explanation and you should contact your insurance agent regarding specifics to your own policy.

This is also not meant to flame the original poster. The way I interpreted the message was that the statement was incorrect since Rick and his family were not injured.

Joe,

I've been told by several knowledgeable folks that a) GL-5 will damage the
syncros; and, b) DC has acknowledged that it speced GL-5 in either the
owner's manual or the FSM in error. You might need to do some research on
this. If the fluid had been changed at a dealer, they should have known
about this.

Not sure if you are subscribed to the Strokers List, but this was an
extended thread about three months ago; you might want to search through the
archives.

Hope this helps.

Joe,
Sorry to hear about your tranny problems. Let us know what the
problem is as soon as you find out.

A question for all you lube gurus out there...does this mean that I
shouldnt be running Mobil 1 ATF in my TF999 auto?

Joe,
I just thought of one more thing. Could it be a problem with something in
the shifter itself? Maybe something broke (or wore beyond a tolerance) and
now the throw is not enough to get over enough for first gear and second.

Just a thought. I don't think the shifter itself is too hard to pull out.

Mobile 1 ATF is either Dexron or Dexron II and is not what the TF999
requires. The TF999 (32RH), requires an ATF +3... If you want to run a
synthetic, Redline makes a ATF+3 spec synthetic.

I hope you all have fun and are safe. I am jealous because I am stuck here in South Carolina and I was going to be on the run but work gets in the way again.

Again, be safe and have fun. Oh take plenty of picture so I can see.

Joe, I have had this problem... It could be a couple things... First thing
that comes to mind are indeed syncro's. It COULD also be your shift fork.
I dont run tranny fluid in my standard tranny... I run gear oil. Gear oil
is a lot thicker than tranny fluid... So there could have been a lot more
friction between the gears causing the syncro's to go out from warping. I
hope this helps you, cause I know youve helped me numerous times!

All you have to do is remove all those little bolts on the shift plate,
release the shifter boot, and pull up on the stick... should slide right
out. Is the tranny leaking at all? Is it full? If you take the plug out
of the filler hole, you should be able to stick your finger in and feel the
fluid.... Also, you can drain your fluid and look for chunks of metal to
see if maybe there was some gear damage.

Joe,

This issue has come up on JU and AZVJC quite a few times since you have
owned your TJ. It's not well known except on these forums that there is
a typo in the owners manual. If you go down to the dealer they will tell
you to use GL3. I know you have a factory service manual and I'm almost
positive that the factory service manual says to use GL3 lube. I
believe you and I have discussed this in person a year and a half ago
and I'm pretty sure I warned you about it. I know Stu and I have
discussed this too.

Anyway, I wish you luck in your pursuits. I don't think it would be fair
for you to pursue your lawsuit since you frequent these forums and
should have known better. But that's just my opinion. You weren't
trolling for a freebie were you? You and I joked about that in your
driveway one day quite awhile back.

Subject: Anniversary run today

Well friends, I just wanted to say that I had a great time up in CK today and the lunch was a success. Although I only had 50 people participate, it was a lot better than having zero and let me add, I want to thank all participants. I have very few photos posted of the run only because we really didn't have much time to take PICS, we didn't want to hold up the pack. It was a pleasure meeting many of the early birds today and I'm looking forward to next year. the only problem I ran into today was both my right rear and right front leaf springs collapsed, now I'm sittin at a lean. And Barry, if your reading this, you think you could help me get a couple of replacement 2 1/2 inch rancho leafs : ) ? TIA if you could. So, other than that, it was fun. Here is the link to the photos we did take. AZVJC Anniversary run pics

Subject: [az_vjc] Nightmare on Deer Valley

Just wanted to start off saying everyone is just fine & thanks for the prayers & the support
well what can I say the AZVJC lost a jeep but not a member or loved one
this morning @ 5 am or so me & my to boys Rj & Cj with their friend Tj was involved in a head on accident just east of 7th street & Deer Valley were the whoops are a drunk driver in my lane hit us as we crested the hill never had time to do or say anything just seen lights the lights out
My youngest son was pinned for awhile until rescue used the jaws of life to free his legs
no one suffered serious injury's just a few stitch's to the front & back off head
the other driver works in the states but is not a legal resident he was not wearing his seat belt
so he had some windshield for breakfast along with all the beer the cops also found some drugs in his car
the jeep is a total loss pics. soon to follow
THANKS RICK BEER
