This could affect back country travel to some 'hidden' jem OHV roads out there so I figured some here might be interested in it. I look at how it impacts the wildlife habitat so that's why it gets my attention.

I-10 Phoenix/Tucson Bypass Study

Project Summary:

The Interstate 10 (I-10) Phoenix/Tucson Bypass Study is a preliminary assessment of the need and feasibility for a new transportation corridor that would provide an alternative to I-10, from the Buckeye area to eastern Arizona. A new corridor could be an optional route for travelers who don’t need to go through the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas. Purposes of a new highway, if needed, would include the following:

Provide an alternative route to I-10 to relieve traffic congestion in the Tucson and Phoenix metropolitan areas.
Provide a shorter, faster east-west route through Arizona that would attract through-trucks and other traffic from I-10.
Provide a new route that offers an alternative path for I-10 traffic during construction, maintenance and incidents.
Provide a new east-west transportation corridor in Arizona to serve the expected rapid population growth and land development.

This has been in the works for the past 5-7 years. It would be roughly along Broadway Road and terminating at the 202. There is also talk of the MC85 (Buckeye) being a controlled access road to the 85 past Buckeye.

edit: just clicked the link and realized you are speaking about the east bypass.

This is so far off it will probably never affect any of us.

Having enjoyed so much in my life, even at my young age, I want to make sure my great great grandkid will have the recreation places there so that they too can, maybe, just maybe, have the same joys I've felt while out in the off beaten path. Be it to hike, hunt, OHV, or just sit and have a quite moment enjoying God's creation.

The E loop makes no sense... goes straight through Phoenix and then cuts up through the mountains on 60. Would solve no traffic problems and would spoil some nice winding drives.
