I want to appologize to Four Wheelers Supply and everyone I offended
with the email I sent. You are all correct, in that I jumped to a
conclusion before doing any research, which is usually not like me at
all.
I had FWS look at rear end and the ring and pinion has broken teeth,
but the gear wear looked good and they want me to come down and look
at it.
FWS tells me that the rear R&P were made in the USA by Spicer, which
FWS say is one of the best you can get and the brand they recommend
for my DANA rear end. As I am, they are at a loss for why the the
Spicer gears broke.
I got the gears from a repitable place called Randy's Ring and Pinion
in Evertt, Washington, but because the 1 year warranty has passed
they will not help me out. I guess I can't blame them.
Can't be totally sure what caused the teeth failure, but I'm pretty
sure it wasn't from over abuse. I don't offroad very often having a 2
year old. I will examine the gears to try and determine the failure
mode; I know a few metalugical engineers.
FWS told me they will take care of me as much as they can and fix it
for about $400.
The question becomes should I put Spicer R&P gears back in or another
brand?
Sorry again,

Sandy I think you were missing his point.
He (and I) think there should be a permit so if some one from out of state
wants to go with someone
for one trip they shouldnt have to buy a permit for them self for one day.
What he is saying IMO is there should be a permit you caould get that would
cover the purchaser and a guest or something similar.

Now we are coming full circle back to the day use pass and the like.
You know we have argued this in-depth before. What it came down to then
as it will now is the permits are what they are and if we want them
changed we need to write our reprehensive and the state land department.
Another idea would be to get a petition going to introduce a bill to
change the law.

I had to make some tweaks to my code (freakish Macintosh's! :D ) But I think its all there.
I'll be adding a web UI in the near future and will be asking for volunteers to test it.
Essentially, it will work like Yahoo Groups, except no advertisements. Receiving Attachments will be a USER preference, not a GROUP preference. Likewise so will HTML vs Plain Text be a user pref.
Later on I'll add server side "Filters" ([TJ], [CJ], [YJ], [OT], [FS], etc...) and a web UI that resembles a bulletin board.
NOTE: certain topics will NOT be filterable -- such as Land Use issues ([LU]).

Sandee,
I may be incorrect, but I believe that what most folks find annoying is
the fact that someone has to pay either $15 or $20 to go 4 wheelin' for
a Saturday morning....ie., my cross-country truck driving
brother-in-law stops in Phoenix to say HI...I want to take him on a
Saturday AM ride....He has to go find a $15 permit before he can spend 2
hours with me in my TJ at the White Tanks.....my sister stops by.....she
wants to see Martinez Canyon (she lives in Minnesota by the way).....I
have to take her out to by a $15 permit so she can take a few pics of
the canyon. These people will not use the permit again....me spending
$100 a year is cheaper than them spending $15 a visit (given the number
of trips I would do in a year).
I am not for or against what is being said....just trying to explain,
from what I can determine, is the other point of view. My boss from
work wants to ride in my Jeep.....so I tell him to go find a permit and
look me up later.
You are correct that it is a $15 or $20 yearly permit....that will be
used one time by a visitor, relative, or neighbor, most likely one time.
I do believe that is the part that people are irritated over.

This is really BS. I like the pop ups, banners and all the useless
advertising that comes up on Yahoo. Please make it more like Yahoo,
that way the people that don't get individual emails can suffer
through the band width robbing/annoying advertisments.

When I push on my brake pedal, it whines. Is this because of a bad brake booster, or perhaps brake lines that aren't long enough due to a bad lift job? Or something else I haven't thought of? I really want to go to Crown King this Saturday, but if my brakes are bad (they were done only a couple months ago) I can't! Please help! Kris<p><br><hr size=1><b>Do You Yahoo!?</b><br>

He (and I) think there should be a permit so if some one from out of state

What he is saying IMO is there should be a permit you caould get that would
cover the purchaser and a guest or something similar.

Now we are coming full circle back to the day use pass and the like.
You know we have argued this in-depth before. What it came down to then
as it will now is the permits are what they are and if we want them
changed we need to write our reprehensive and the state land department.
Another idea would be to get a petition going to introduce a bill to
change the law.

Sandee,
I may be incorrect, but I believe that what most folks find annoying is
the fact that someone has to pay either $15 or $20 to go 4 wheelin' for
a Saturday morning....ie., my cross-country truck driving
brother-in-law stops in Phoenix to say HI...I want to take him on a
Saturday AM ride....He has to go find a $15 permit before he can spend 2
hours with me in my TJ at the White Tanks.....my sister stops by.....she
wants to see Martinez Canyon (she lives in Minnesota by the way).....I
have to take her out to by a $15 permit so she can take a few pics of
I do believe that is the part that people are irritated over.

if
it was a $100.00 permit this grumbling would make sense...........

Mike,
This is really BS. I like the pop ups, banners and all the useless
advertising that comes up on Yahoo. Please make it more like Yahoo,
that way the people that don't get individual emails can suffer
through the band width robbing/annoying advertisments.

I guess that makes it ok then? Wait until you get fined. I'll bet you do
some whining then.
No laws for you!

Kris

?????,
Fitting subject for you comments. It appears you are too cheap to spend
the 15 dollars to be legal and help the cause. It's just a matter of
time, and I'd say with 15 years of luck so far the odds are against you.
So I don't blame you for not signing your email. In any case my name is
Joey Kulich I sign my emails Joey K 93YJ, or you might recognize
