Anthony,

Do not think that the ledge is gone. I went up to CK about a month after
the bronco club jack hammered it for the running club and it was back.
Maybe not as large as some legends have made it to be but it is there.
Long wheel base vehicles beware.

If you have a stock XJ or ZJ you may consider some timber (2x6). I
normally would not say this but considering the size of the group and
the time that could be spent at this location this may help the progress
of all.

You're absolutely right. There should be some kind of temporary day use
permit or something. As for hammering it out... Been there done that. I
do believe the state is working the issue (we all know how fast the
wheels turn for the state).
However it is a good thing you bring this back up.

If you could find a good way to run the exhaust out behind the rear wheel, and not affect your departure angle, that is about the only way to quiet these beasts down. I ran a 304 in a 74 CJ-5 for many years, and it was just plain noisy. Now I've got the 360 in a 74 and guess what, still noisy! (I assume you have the exhaust exiting in front of the rear wheels?) I was trying to come up with a good way to have the tip of the exhaust pipe point more in a downward direction, but haven't worked it out yet. I will need some new headers shortly, and will try and come up with something then.
If you come up with a solution, please let me know . . . . . .

I agree. Lately, too many people are willing to jump up to condemn a company for what they "THINK" the problem is and what they "THINK" was done wrong. Then they go flaming away without first (or ever) contacting the company in question to see what the real issue is and how it can be resolved.
Remeber when my rear pinion gear grenaded? I did't go flaming the company (not any of the ones mentioned lately) that did the gears because we couldn't be sure it was their problem. I simply changed them and moved on.
In my opinion (key word here), before you go trashing a company for what you think they have done wrong, contact them FIRST to see what the real problem is and how it can be resolved. Give them a chance. Everybody makes mistakes every once in a while. If it is a good company, they will stand behind their product or service and make do their best to makes things right within reason. If you do not do this, then you have no right whatsoever to *****.

4 Wheelers Supply has been very good to a lot of us. They provide us with great service and great prices. Give them a chance to look at it to find out what was wrong before you pass judgement against them. Its only fair

Here we go again, putting the buggy before the horse. Do you know for sure what is wrong. Have you opened the cover to investigate. Are you starting a bandwagon for everyone to jump on without the proper information. This seems to be the norm for some of the people in this club, which makes me wonder why I am a member.

But then I remember, maybe I can help some people and also receive help and information at the same time.

The rear most likely would have had problems long before if there was an install error. Well within the 90 day labor warranty. It upsets me to see people jump to conclusions without knowing.

Please bring it in to us and let us look at it, we have a ton of experience, probably more than anyone in town. We have a solid reputation for having what you need and good service. So before the rest of those who read your post and jump, as some already have, go see what's wrong and get it resolved.

Bolts just don't back out after 18000 miles.

Yep, Ron's Custom, solid bar guard (no tubing in his product). It
even comes unpainted so you can paint it any color you wish. The
flange is 3/8" steel and if you bolt it up with some grade 8 bolts,
you will never have a problem with it.
Besides, Ron is a heck of a nice guy.

--James

BTW - He has two guards, the extreme duty and regular duty. I got the
regular duty, there are some design "features" I felt I didn't need
that were of the extreme duty guard.

Just don't let T.C. see ya use the timber or you need to look for it at the bottom of the wash.... :)

normally would not say this but considering the size of the group and
the time that could be spent at this location this may help the progress
of all.
