I was looking for a candidate for some UHMW rock sliders I want to make. I dont have them on my Jeep yet but I bought enough plastic for about 5 or 6 pair. I need some dimensions and I can cut them while you wait if you want to come to my work (48th st. and Southern) in the evening only. I have .500" UHMW. The Guinea Pig for my sliders gets them free!! The rest will be very cheap, if they work out and fit. Lemme know!

Shoot, I'v been called worse pigs than that! I'd be your guinea pig. I have a YJ with naked rockers. That work for you? Give me info on location, and I'll get it down to you. That really sounds cool,,,,,,first on my block....

I've got a TJ and am very interested in the results of this. I don't think I can make it to the shop in the evening but would be down for a well priced set!

Ultra High Molecular Weight

Ultra High Molecular Weight :ack2: Is that supposed to be stronger than steel or something?

I dont know about stronger, but if you smack it it is a lot more abbraision resistant than steel. I have seen where several people have used it for extra layer on belly skid. Ask travis he has boat side with UHMW. It helps you slide off rock better.

It's supposed to make you slide off rocks like "you're on snot", thats what I read. I have a whole sheet so I wanna try it. I've only seen a couple in person... Hopefully it will work out, I am going to make some for drroadie

Well, Don showed up tonight. We made the sliders in about 20 minutes. Hopefully he will get pics up when He gets the mounted. Contact me if you guys want sliders or any custom guards or armor. I am gonna order more plastic today.

I had a hard time drawing hand on the CAD so I put my hand up on the screen and outlined it then shrunk it and modified it a little and attached it to my little plastic self.... LOL!

Yep, picked up the rock sliders last night. Josh did a great job. Boy has he got a neat toy box there! He calls it a job...... He got them all ready for me in no time. Now I have to do a bend in each one, and drill the mounting holes. I started to bend one this mornning. Boy, that stuff is tough! Ought to stand up to bout anything once installed. I suddenly got busy at work, so that will set the install back a bit, but will try to post pics when done. Thank you again, Josh. What a guy. Mod, give that boy some points!!!

I told Don not too hurry putting them on... He is having problems bending the UHMW, which I kinda suspected. I was originally hoping for a plastic cover for a steel rock slider that was already mounted. I think in the end Dons will work as good or better than what I was planning on making. I know we need pics, ask Cronoh or Jperez... I made a couple things for them.. Lance I can make that cover for the t-case I just need dims. lemme know. :)
