1) I need to order an ARB for my Ford 8.8 ASAP. Its part # RD81 and I've found it as low as $599. I'd appreciate any leads anybody can provide. I don't need the compressor, solenoid or switch since I'm plumbing it to my CO2 tank using the following switch: http://www.gulfcoastrovers.com/all/switch/
2) I'm also looking for the lowest price on a Ford Motorsports 4.56 gearset and install kit.
3) And I need to find the best price on axle brackets for the lower control arms, coil spring perches, and swaybar brackets. I do not need the upper control brackets or the tracbar bracket since I'm building a truss to triangulate the uppers.
It's been a few years since I last purchased lockers and gears. I figure there has to be some people on the list that know where to find the good deals.
Thanks in advance!

Rick,
Do you have the RE track bar that requires you to drill a larger hole at
the frame end? If so, I crank that down to about 160 ft. lbs. The
bolt/nut is rated past this level so that is not a problem. I learned
this from several others who had fought with their's before I put mine
on.
If it was the axle end that you tightened, you may want to take a close
look and make sure the hole has not become oval shaped. I think Scott
Kruize had this happen to him and it gave him problems until he
discovered it and corrected the problem.

Thanks to all that responded. Turns out Joe W. hit the problem (loose

track bar). I checked the factory specs @ 74#'s and it seemed tight
enough
but I took it up a bit and the wobble stopped. Was there different
torque
specs with the RE track bar?

ARB solenoids, switches, and the ARB compressor tend to be where most of
the trail failures with an ARB come from. That's why I'm going with the
mechanical air switch and inline regulator run off my CO2 tank.
I've read that some have some diffuculties routing the shifter cables on
the OX and the older generation had problems with the shifter but the
latest shifter seems to have solved the problems.
Other than those issues they both seem to be a great choice. ARB is the
cheaper of the 2. Both are very strong. I chose the ARB for cost and
availability. The OX is still fairly expensive and axle choices are
still limited to the D30, 35, and 44.

Hello All,
Dave Murray lead a trail run Friday, August 9, 2002 across Raw Deal (Lower)
Alright well this was defenitely a fun succesful night run. We had 6 vehicles show up. There were 3 XJ's, 1 TJ, 1 YJ, 1 CJ. We started out by hitting Lower Raw Deal. Everyone did fine through there and there were no breakdowns or mechanical failures. When we were done with Lower we went to see Upper and i didnt attempt that but two of the trip attendees did. We had a YJ do it with 35 inch tires and a CJ rockbuggy. The rest of us watched and then went back and got our vehicles to head up to Upper Terminator. Roger lead us over to the Upper Terminator trailhead and lead us through that. Bronson in a Cherokee called it a night and Chris decided to park it. That left 1 CJ, 1 XJ, 1 TJ, 1 YJ. We went through that pretty easily with no breakdowns. That was alot of fun. Another great night run with no problems...

Did you ever get that clutch replaced?
Let me know if you still need my help, I finished mine this week. I had to wait an extra day because I broke of one of the clutch bolts, its a good thing I did though because while I was in there I noticed the rear transmission seal is where my leak was coming from so I replaced that too. as well as both front and rear seals on the transfer case. So if you still need to get it done let me know, it should only take a few hours as long as nothgin goes wrong. But I woudl suggest getting those three seals and replace them while you are in there.
Talk to you soon,

I got a lot of emails, first off thanks to everyone who took time to reply!
The MC Im using has 1 1/8" bore ( took it off and measured it this morning)...
About the lines, Stainless Steel new (all the lines that run on the frame and rear axle)
Soft line from the frame to the calipers (front) 2 lines, 2' long... (6 mo old) BUT the pedal never felt spoongy (untill I changed the MC)...
Soft lines on the rear calipers, 4" long...
Im going out right now to bench bleed the MC since we didnt do that! (heheh ok laugh).
After trying this, will let you all know and if it doesnt do the trick, will work on the prop valve and replace the soft lines with SS.
Ill keep you all posted!!!!

Rick,
Do you have the RE track bar that requires you to drill a larger hole at
the frame end?

Subject: RE: ARB vs. Ox; was: Looking for the best price on an ARB and other 8.8 stuff...

Subject: [TR] Trip Report - Raw Deal (Lower) - Friday, August 9, 2002
Hello All,
Dave Murray lead a trail run Friday, August 9, 2002 across Raw Deal (Lower)

Anthony,
Did you ever get that clutch replaced?
Let me know if you still need my help, I finished mine this week. I had to wait an extra day because I broke of one of the clutch bolts, its a good thing I did though because while I was in there I noticed the rear transmission seal is where my leak was coming from so I replaced that too. as well as both front and rear seals on the transfer case. So if you still need to get it done let me know, it should only take a few hours as long as nothgin goes wrong. But I woudl suggest getting those three seals and replace them while you are in there.
Talk to you soon,
Smitty

Subject: REPLY: Brake problems - Help Needed
Thanks a lot!
