Subject: Kill Switch???
Hi gang,
Got a couple of questions for ya. Does anyone run a kill switch on
their jeep? AKA.anti theft. If so what would be the best way to set
this up? Since I don't have a garage to park it in and even if I did
it would not fit.I just don't see myself spending alot of money on an
alarm system.Seen a few to many posts on jeeps being stolen so I
would like to make it as difficult as possible for the bas@#$ds.
Any thoughts or ideas?
TA,

Fan, Dryer, and ventilation unit of an A/C system taken out of a Jeep Wrangler. Works great. Have all wiring. If you are planning to install one in your jeep the other parts you need are a compressor, condenser, and high press. lines. If not will work great for spare parts.

Yup. M.O.R.E. it is! Got 'em welded on my 8.8 and they are
seriously stout. James Towle tacked them for me, and he used the RE
brackets. The M.O.R.E. kit is built for the 8.8m whereas the RE kit had
to be ground to fit the 3.25" 8.8 tubes. And Scott, check eBay for
4.56s for the 8.8. Search under "ford 8.8"- there's a guy selling any
ratio for $145 plus $12 ship. Or call Barry at 4 Wheeler's Supply. (I
did! Hint, hint!) And why not just Lincon=ln lock it? It's not like
you drive it on the road... LOL! :) Welcome to Club 8.8!!! Should be
bolting mine underneath in a week.

Does anyone know of a good shop in the Chandler/Mesa area to get a 3 angle
valve job? I need new valve seals for my 4.0 and I figure I might as well go
all the way with the head. So if anyone can offer up some advice and
a decent shop to do the work I'd greatly appreciate it.

Im having problems with the brake system of my CJ7, I just cant get it to break as Id like it to. Ill give you the most details I can and then explain the problem...
Chevy single wheel front D60, Stock brake system, new pads, new calipers...
Hybrid D60/70 rear, D44 8 lug (4x4) rotors, custom plates and chevy D44 half ton (4x4) front calipers...
Stock prop valve (1979 CJ7) that came without boster...
Dual disc master cylinder from what I think was a camaro or some like that (got it from parts mike) its set for disc/disc and has a 1 1/8" or 1 1/16" bore
Problem...
We had the stock master cylinder and it would stop, but you had to pump the pedal twice or three times to get to a stop, couldnt lock the tires but had an ok feeling on the pedal.
Then, replaced the master cylinder with the one supplied from parts mike, replaced all the calippers and pads, bleeded the whole system and the pedal feels foamy and/or soft. To get to a dead stop you have to press it to the bottom and wait till it stops. Lifted the front end and you can still spin the tires (takes some effort) when pressing the pedal to the bottom.
Ive bleeded the lines a few times, drained them all and bleeded again and it just wont change.
Any help and input on this will be appreciated!
Thanks in advane

Did you bench bleed the new master cylinder before you put it on the vehicle? It is sometimes very hard to get all the air out on the vehicle. HTH Jim F.

Subject: [az_vjc] Brake problems - Help Needed

I threw away the rear antisway bar years ago. Had to reinstall the front
one earlier this year due to the 6" lift. The old Jeep was rolling like
a boat and a little hard to control on the streets.

Chio,
Put an F-350 Master cylinder in. It has the largest bore dia. and will move more fluid.
I think mine is out of an 1986, but any in that year group should work.
Make sure you bench bleed it before install, and then bleed your brakes.
How much rubber brake line do you have in your Jeep?
This can cause a spongy pedal if there is too much due to line expansion under pressure.
Good luck.

Did you bench bleed the new master cylinder before you put it on the vehicle? It is sometimes very hard to get all the air out on the vehicle. HTH Jim F.

What kind and condition are your break lines in?

Thanks to all that responded. Turns out Joe W. hit the problem (loose from
track bar). I checked the factory specs @ 74#'s and it seemed tight enough
but I took it up a bit and the wobble stopped. Was there different torque
specs with the RE track bar?

I would suggest looking into mounting the heim joint vertically (see
below URL for an example) to eliminate binding, and take the stress off
the mount.

Yup. M.O.R.E.

Yup. M.O.R.E.

Good luck.

I would suggest looking into mounting the heim joint vertically (see

If the government has no knowledge of aliens, then why does Title 14,
Section 1211 of the Code of Federal Regulations, implemented on July 16,1969,
make it illegal for U.S. citizens to have any contact with extraterrestrials or their vehicles?

You thought about trying an adjustable proportioning valve? I had to put on on mine because it takes so much less fluid for the big rear drums than it did for the front.

Chio,
Put an F-350 Master cylinder in.

HTH Jim F.

Jesus,
What kind and condition are your break lines in?
Lines that are expanding could create a similar effect.

Subject: [az_vjc] Brake problems - Help Needed
Jesus Chio
