Bill,
It had been way too long since we had a chance to shoot the breeze. I
completely enjoyed the evening.
You are correct....I think the folks there certainly do have an interest
in a nicely built Jeep. Say...why do you have that compressor on that
thing? LOL
Give me a call on Sunday if you still want to check things out. I
should be back home by 11:00 AM from church. 623-846-7624

Hehehe!
You all missed a pretty good time!
Saw allot of super cool cars.
Damn tag game!!
Stu tagged Withers, Withers tagged Anderson, Anderson (Squirrelly little
Sh@#$t bucket tagged me! Sharky was in there somewhere too I
believe.....
Ohh well, we all more than made up for it by teasing Mike relentlessly,
then
we unloaded it on an unsuspecting XJ.
The guy came up and introduced himself later, we questioned him about
his
Jeep, then congratulated him on being "It"!!
(Sorry, as bad as I am with names, I can't remember his, I'm sure he'll
speak up though.)
The Jeeps get allot of attention at these shows. Seems the hot rod
cruiser
crowd has allot of respect for modifying and building up something that
you
can do more than cruise the boulevard with.
Had a lengthy conversation with Stu, while the "Kids" drank their
"Silver
Sodas"...... They finally offered Stu one, I couldn't believe they
tortured
him by making him wait that much. (Younger Generation, Baahh!)
Just as we were really starting to have fun, Mama called and reminded me
we
had no kids for the evening.
(Those of you with children can feel me on this).
The guys thought it was pretty big funny that I bolted outta there after
her
call......as far as they are concerned, I'm super Whooped.... I guess
that's
fine by me, I know what's REALLY important in life!
Anyway, I'll probably do it again in a couple weeks. We'll have to see.

Today was a productive wrenching day for all Les, ScottK, and myself.
I got some bushings removed from some control arms so I now have a couple of spares again.
Scott pulled his front drive shaft and I helped him press out a u-joint that was getting a little sloppy. He also got some grease pumped into the CV u-joints before putting it back on. Later, we lengthened the upper control arms and got a slightly better pinion angle (we thing that was partly to do for the u-joint failure). I hope the ride home was good at freeway speed?
Les was busy as all get out. He drained the OX lockers and filled them with Mobil 1 and he changed the fluid on the auto tranny as well. The last project we reversing the wiring in his sound bar so he could mount it in front of the roll bar.
We wrapped it up just as the Mrs. came home and the shower sure was nice (Bill, you taking any notes here! The kids dont have to be gone.). LOL
Looking forward to seeing all of you next Saturday on the Anniversary run.

I just realized this weekend would have been the best weekend for a camping trip.
Saturday night and Sunday night and a little tonight, is a meteor shower. I was just
outside smoking and saw a few. I might have to take a trip away from the city tomorrow
night or sunday night with the kids to watch. And one interested in meeting somewhere?

1999 TJ Dana 44 with 4.56 gears and Detroit Softlocker. I also have 2 spare shafts with new bearings pressed on. This is an easy upgrade option for those with a Dana 35. This axle has been trouble free. Never broke a thing on it. It has 2.5 years or 14k miles on the Detroit and 4.56 gears. The axle has a total of 27k miles.
It should be available very soon.

1) I need to order an ARB for my Ford 8.8 ASAP. Its part # RD81 and I've found it as low as $599. I'd appreciate any leads anybody can provide. I don't need the compressor, solenoid or switch since I'm plumbing it to my CO2 tank using the following switch: http://www.gulfcoastrovers.com/all/switch/
2) I'm also looking for the lowest price on a Ford Motorsports 4.56 gearset and install kit.
3) And I need to find the best price on axle brackets for the lower control arms, coil spring perches, and swaybar brackets. I do not need the upper control brackets or the tracbar bracket since I'm building a truss to triangulate the uppers.
It's been a few years since I last purchased lockers and gears. I figure there has to be some people on the list that know where to find the good deals.
Thanks in advance!

Hello All,
steve sample lead a trail run Saturday, August 10, 2002 across Woodpecker (Upper)
ok- it was HOT so that's my excuse for the lack of names on the report, although the little ****er spaniel belonging to larry- that's BUTTERSCOTCH! one cool wheelin dog.
we all hooked up and hit woodpecker. i got wedged in the first obstacle and had to hi-lift out. what a way to start out. thanks to all for the help- good teamwork. only two of us attempted and beat the firehole- larry greene and jeff franz. good job guys and good spotting by others. we hit all the other tough spots with little or none of the easier bypasses. everyone was "in-tune". there were no breakdowns. good driving and equiptment.
there were about 8 of us started out and 2 CJ's hooked up at the beginning of woodpecker. they both made it.
did i mention it was HOT? we bailed after woodpecker. all but scott grigsby and eddie nordstrom called it a day. they headed for more wheelin- something about axle alley.......
did you guys make it out ok?
another fine run of ROCK CRAWLIN

Yup. M.O.R.E. it is! Got 'em welded on my 8.8 and they are
seriously stout. James Towle tacked them for me, and he used the RE
brackets. The M.O.R.E. kit is built for the 8.8m whereas the RE kit
had to be ground to fit the 3.25" 8.8 tubes. And Scott, check eBay
for 4.56s for the 8.8. Search under "ford 8.8"- there's a guy
selling any ratio for $145 plus $12 ship. Or call Barry at 4

Subject: Brake problems - Help Needed
Im having problems with the brake system of my CJ7, I just cant get it to break as Id like it to. Ill give you the most details I can and then explain the problem...
Chevy single wheel front D60, Stock brake system, new pads, new calipers...
Hybrid D60/70 rear, D44 8 lug (4x4) rotors, custom plates and chevy D44 half ton (4x4) front calipers...
Stock prop valve (1979 CJ7) that came without boster...
Dual disc master cylinder from what I think was a camaro or some like that (got it from parts mike) its set for disc/disc and has a 1 1/8" or 1 1/16" bore
Problem...
We had the stock master cylinder and it would stop, but you had to pump the pedal twice or three times to get to a stop, couldnt lock the tires but had an ok feeling on the pedal.
Then, replaced the master cylinder with the one supplied from parts mike, replaced all the calippers and pads, bleeded the whole system and the pedal feels foamy and/or soft. To get to a dead stop you have to press it to the bottom and wait till it stops. Lifted the front end and you can still spin the tires (takes some effort) when pressing the pedal to the bottom.
Ive bleeded the lines a few times, drained them all and bleeded again and it just wont change.
Any help and input on this will be appreciated!
Thanks in advane

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. But you would have saved 170.00 if you

radiator for free, most places will just give you a hassle about replacing
something and say it wasn't thier fault. I actually commend Radiator.com..
The first question I will ask you is did you get steel tanks or plastic. If
you got plastic tanks I'd expect it to fail
in only a matter of time. As much heat and flex that is in the XJ unibody
it's a wonder we don't destroy more stuff on a regular basis..

Or call Barry at 4
Wheeler's Supply. (I did! Hint, hint!) And why not just Lincon=ln
lock it? It's not like you drive it on the road... LOL! :)
Welcome to Club 8.8!!! Should be bolting mine underneath in a week.

Yup. M.O.R.E. it is! Got 'em welded on my 8.8 and they are
seriously stout. James Towle tacked them for me, and he used the RE
brackets. The M.O.R.E. kit is built for the 8.8m whereas the RE kit
had to be ground to fit the 3.25" 8.8 tubes. And Scott, check eBay
for 4.56s for the 8.8. Search under "ford 8.8"- there's a guy
selling any ratio for $145 plus $12 ship. Or call Barry at 4
Wheeler's Supply. (I did! Hint, hint!) And why not just Lincon=ln
lock it? It's not like you drive it on the road... LOL! :)
Welcome to Club 8.8!!! Should be bolting mine underneath in a week.

94xjoe,
Sorry to hear of your misfortune. But you would have saved 170.00 if you
would have just emailed the group.. I'd be more than willing to help out
anyone if it will save them some money.. It's great that they replaced the
radiator for free, most places will just give you a hassle about replacing
something and say it wasn't thier fault.
If you ever need help with your XJ just shout out man... or call me
