I have a 1993 YJ I recently installed a 4" suspension lift. Now my reverse lights no longer work. Is this a common problem and how do I fix it? I have checked all the fuses and my tail lights still work. I was told it might be a cable that runs to the transmission just not sure how to find it.

Any Help would be greatly apperciated.

Steve

wierd. Did you put in a t-case drop? I wonder if after you did that your shift lever isn't fully going into reverse to engage the light. Dont have much help other then that.

Yes, x2 possibly... Is it a manual or auto? Either way I think smude has the right idea. When I did mine(93 YJ) and my buddies (92 YJ) we adjusted the linkage so we could shift smoothly. Are you having any interference or grinding like you are not quite in gear?

How do you do that? My 95YJ goes into reverse but can be a bear sometimes

I did do the lowering of the transfer case. So how do I go about the Linkage issue? I'm still pretty new to the Jeep Community. I'm in the USAF so I do have access to a pretty good auto hobby shop on base which has most tools. I did the lift in FL and drove the beast to AZ.

Thanks,
Steve

Back up lights are overrated. Just pull through everywhere. Sorry if this is no help at all.

No auto. I like my standard. Ever since I did the transfer lower and BL it is difficult to engage reverse. It is a new tranny, clutch, etc they have less then 3,000mi on them.

Is the shifter binding up the rubber boot? Is the shift lever hitting the tub?
