My Hypertherm Plasma Cutter finally found me today:

Deluxe PowerMax 30. This is one sweet setup. I will get around to doing some cutting in the next day or so and well let you know what I think...

Discovered this Digital Multifunction Torpedo Level Mdl 948295, at Sears the other day. It reads to and accuracy of .1 and displays to .1 degree. It does several other things such as a lit screen and what is really COOL is the display automatically flips to read correctly when you turn it upside down.

It has a powerful magnet on the bottom and will provide some very accurate readings for Caster measurements over the Home Depot angle finder.

Got it at Sears on a Christmas sale for $20, regular $34.95

Sweet toy Don!!

I've got the Hypertherm 380 and it works great.

Unfortunately I don't get as much time to use it as I would like!! :patriot:

Not sure what you are asking as this is my first plasma cutter I have owned myself.

But if I understand you, you are asking what kind of metal does it work on? It works on steel, alum, iron, stainless, chro-mo etc. I guess that anything that conducts electricity. That said, I know some that cut other stuff that does not conduct electricity and in fact is not metal...plywood etc. They do this by placing a thin (1/16th) sheet of mild steel on top of the surface to be cut. The steel creates the plasma arc and the plasma stream will continue thru the surface to be cut.

If you are asking does it magnetize the metal you are cutting, the answer as far as I understand, is no.
