Why do I get the feeling that nobody really read my post????

Would you be interested in it (BBS),
if you still received e-mails
and
could "reply" to a post via e-mail?

The main reason I like the emails is because I get them chronologically.
AND I can sort them by subject. I also prefer to have them sent to me
instead of going to them.

In response to Joeys comment, I can miss my AZVJC messages for a couple
days and then come back and read all 400 messages later on and not miss
a single one all in chronological order. With BBS its really tough to
catch up and you will definitely miss a lot of good follow up posts
since the topics are usually sorted by when the last post was made and
posts with few responses easily get buried deep.

GREG,

I JUST GOT A CALL FROM RANDY RICHARDS. HE SAID HE SPOTTED YOUR JEEP ABANDONED UNDER THE SUPERSTITION SPRINGS BRIDGE ON US 60.

You will get this probably after he calls you because I just gave him your number. Hopefully you can get it before it gets towed and save a bit of money.

Hope it is still all intact for you.

No top. Was taken from Mesa this morning had no battery in it so may have been towed away. Just ran Martinez so a few of you know what it looks like. The Jeep is part of the family so I really would like It back.
If seen please call Greg @ 480-844-0157 or 480-835-1234 or call Mesa PD.
Thanks for your help....Greg

Mike,
That would be great to have the option of either format. BUT I think it will change the culture of the club. Even if just a little bit. And those that change over, and the new members that join and use the BBS format will miss out on much of the fun and educational material other members share. However on the good side we might not get as many POed people because of OT posts. OR we could have more because of people posting to the wrong subject.

OH well If I had to choose... I like it as it is.

Subject: RE: Do I need Master Install kits?

If you do not buy the install kit you will need the following at a minimum.

8.8 rear
1 Front pinion bearing
1 pinion seal
1 crush sleeve or I set pinion depth shims

Note: you can setup the 8.8 with shims instead of a crush sleeve which will
make it stronger. I usually do this on rears that have very large tires and
or have high HP engines.

D30 front
1 Front pinion bearing
2 carrier bearings
1 pinion seal
1 set of back lash shims
1 set of pinion depth shims

You may find your self money ahead to buy the kits. Also with 4:88 in the
D30 your pinion gear will become your week link as it will be very very
small.

I am going to order a set of 4.88s for my 8.8 and Dana 30 from a
group buy on JU through Randy's R&P. Pretty good prices. Wanted to
buy locally, but the $$$ is just not so easily parted with. Anyway,
I can get Master Install kits for about $55 per axle. Do I really
need them if my bearings are ok? I guess it's good preventive
maintnance to do it while I'm in there... If all I really needed was
crush sleeves (the 8.8 uses a crush sleeve, right?) is it possible to
buy just the sleeves? I am *assuming* that a Master Install kit
comes with a couple sleeves, and seals, new carrier bearings, shims,
pattern-marking compound, and a handy-dandy instruction manual. (No,
I am NOT going to try to set them up unassisted.) LOL! Thanks for
any help.

Subject: RE: Conversion to Bulletin Board type Forum

Ok, how about this:

I write our own "Mailing List" software so we don't have to continue to use YahooGroups. (99% of e-mail sent to Webmaster@AzVJC.org is concerning how to change delivery options on Yahoo Groups -- and I have a standard reply that explains how to do it... that is at least a page long.

In addition I'll add "filters" so that you can choose not to receive certain types of e-mails (for instance it makes no sense for me to receive posts concerning TJ Tech, since I have never owned one and most likely wouldn't be able to answer any questions anyway) But other types of e-mails are "mandatory" (Land Use Issues)

Then so that there is an archive, I'll set up a forum style user interface online, people that choose not to receive e-mail can still view and reply to messages online. And so members can do a search in the archives.

There does that sound better?

- Mike

(BTW, its still the same software I was talking about before, does it make it better if I call it a Mailing List instead of a Bulletin Board?)

Mike,
That would be great to have the option of either format.

That reminds me... A suggestion for your project. Can you include a switch for people to not receive attachments or images embedded in the email.
Not that there is anything wrong with it :) it is just that some would not want to waste there modems bandwidth with a such things.

buy on JU, and I have seen Import gears and Randy's which from what I

You can buy either the cheap import gears from Randy's or you can get
Randy's standard gears which are Yukon.

I agree with the no vote. I usually go to the yahoo groups site, I
can see them in chronological order, then choose to sort them, but I
get to see them all and choose which ones to read and respond to.
Some of the boards I have been too take much longer to load with
more graphics and garbage that I don't need to see, read of care
about.

Oh no, I just agreed with someone with square headlights... :o)

Why do I get the feeling that nobody really read my post????

The main reason I like the emails is because I get them chronologically.
AND I can sort them by subject. I also prefer to have them sent to me
instead of going to them.

Just some thing I like of the simplicity of the current form.

I would definatly stay way from the cheap imports. I tried a set of them
about 4 years ago and they are not worth the savings in cost.

Subject: Does your Jeep slouch?

Hey all,

I know that I do not post much, but it is tough to help others when
your own Jeep knowledge is limited. What the heck, I learn more as I
go along. I have a 2000 Tj and have noticed that the passenger side
sags quite a bit compared to the driver side. As I look around, I
have noticed that a large amount of Jeeps in general do too. Just
not to the extent my own is. My baby is not factory anymore so I am
wondering also if my suspension somehow could be affecting the sag.
I am running a RE Long Arm kit. I guess my question would be
something like, " Does or did your Jeep experience this type of
problem and what have you done to remedy it?" I though about the
adjustable coil spacers, but ONLY on the passenger seems odd.
Couldn't that change how my suspension is supposed to work? Any and
all input is greatly appreciated.
