Arizona Emissions Exemption: The Arizona Automobile Hobbyist Council (AAHC)
spearheaded an effort to create an emissions test exemption for vehicles at
least 15 years old that are insured as collectibles. The bill was amended to
require state regulators to contact the U.S. EPA to seek approval for the
exemption. The legislature also agreed to exempt drivers of historic trucks
from the requirement of having a commercial driver's license, if the vehicle
has been issued a historic license plate. Both measures were signed into
law.

Subject: Tuffy Center Console
Hi All:
Just like to thank Barry at 4 Wheelers for hooking me up with a Tuffy Center Security Console for my TJ. I know people have mentioned it, but Barry is very knowledgable on his products and I personally only deal with him at 4 Wheelers. My friend Chris and I ran into Doug B while we were there, who was also waiting to talk to Barry!
Scott K thanks for your help with the install tonight! It really makes a difference.
I'd recommend the Tuffy Center Console to anyone who is thinking about making the purchase. I had purchased a Factory Console from Darner Jeep yesterday, they sold me the wrong one. I didn't see spending more money on buying another front section to go with the rear armrest/cup holder. The Tuffy is very well built, solid, and I'd like to see someone steal something out it considering it's made out of 16 Gauge Steel. You'll be at it all night with a sawzall! Thank you to everyone who sent me e-mails directly about the Tuffy Console!
I think that the Install instructions are incorrect on a few things. The holes that need to be drilled in the tub (size given per insttructions) was incorrect. We drilled them to 3/8" and we had to get larger washers to fit because the whole drilled was too large for the washers. Also the longer self-tapping screw provided to fit straight down through the cupholder was incorrect length, also had to purchase a longer screw at Lowe's. Yeah, it's a total of a $2 investment, but when you spend $200 on a console you expect to be supplied with the proper hardware for the install. Just FYI!
Thanks again!

How do you get a vehicle insured as a collectible?
Will a stretched '84 CJ7 that has been slightly modified in some
other ways fit into the collectible category?
I hope so, the emission crap was coming off the 360 this week. This

Any idea how we could get a copy of the exact law and when it goes into effect?
Is there a web site?
Was there a time limit for the regulators to contact the EPA for the exemption,
or has that already been done?
This is great news for me! :-)

Mike,
Could we have a way to recognize the ads that were placed in the vendor section to distinguish them from the regular ads. I thought it used to says it was a vendor ad in the message that was sent to the group. That is why I responded the way I did.
Actually, I just looked at the other vendor ads that were placed on the 2nd and the 6th, and they never showed up in the messages (I checked the archives). Did something change between those and this one?

one. Get the 4 core one.
As for the tranny, I would go with the 700r4. It's going to cost more to put
it in, but you get a 3:1 first gear ratio and an overdrive.

Jake

I would look to get a 2 core aluminum radiator setup with Chevy style inlets

Mepco and get a 4 core HD one. Don't go for their 3 core high fin density
one. Get the 4 core one.
As for the tranny, I would go with the 700r4. It's going to cost more to put
it in, but you get a 3:1 first gear ratio and an overdrive.

I just got back from Ouray yesterday. Didn't have time to wheel, as we were
just passing through, but it was beautiful! Lots of Jeeps. I did some easy
wheeling in that area last year and it is great. They are getting a lot of
rain right now, and the area around Durango (North & East of) is quite badly
burned. They have signs all over Colorado indicating that there are no open
fires/burning.
If you haven't been there before, you will love it. If you have, you know
