I'm looking to swap a Chevy Dana 60 full floater into my CJ-5. Does anyone have any tech tips on if the Chevy 60 would be a good coice? I'm going to run full width axles as I'm a bit top heavy and don't want to take any lift out.

I can't offer too much since I havent done a d60 swap...most here havent. I will say I think it sounds cool in the '5...Are you going to extend the wheelbase?

Many people use Ford D60's out of 70's F-250's and Highboys...

Be sure to post pics!

Chevy 14 bolt is very good swap. Inexpensive, and very stout.

Just out of curiosity, when did Chevy use a D60 in the rear? I thought they only used their corp 10, 12, 10.5" full float 14, 9.5" semi float 14, and some Eatons (back in the day) in the rear of their light trucks. I'm no Chevy expert but I don't know of a Dana rear end in any 3/4 - 1 ton Chevy truck.

Also depends on tire size and whether or not you want to spend money on the axle. stock d60 is good for 37-40" tires... No smaller... and not really a good idea for larger (if larger tires are in order then you want 35 spline axles in it) Corp 14 is cheap but is a big anchor and you definitely will want big tires to clear it.

I haven't seen much price difference between a 60 rear and a 14...

I have a d60 on my cj-7 with 104" wheelbase and 42" tires... I do still have the stock 30 spline axles and will upgrade to 35 spline when I start breaking them...
