I did a quick search on the board and found this. You could pick and choose what you need based on what you're doing. There is a lot of advice on this one.

For the bare minimum you need to think "survival" and prepare for the unexpected.

WATER
Full tank of gas
Only you know your Jeep so be it spare u joint or crankshaft only you can make the call.

I have a comprehensive list of items you can take in MS Excel you can download from my site.

We have an MSAccess database that is three pages long of "minimum's"! Our moto is to take EVERYTHING, and then strap it down!

Take everything and you still dont have enough...it takes time to figure out all what you need and remember that all peoples needs are different. Food, water, lighter, a firearm and a blanket will keep you alive for a while if you know what to do.

Bare minimum for basic survival? Bare minimum for 4-wheeling? I have a basic list on my site, broken down into categories, but I will admit, many times I have hopped in the Jeep with just water, snacks, cell phone, shovel, strap, gloves, stock jack, and hiking boots.

I believe in Murphy's insurance: whatever you DON'T bring is what you will need that day.
