Ok so I guess my clutch disc fell apart...the disc itself is not covered by warranty so I have to pay for it...I decided to go with a whole Centerforce clutch kit and all the labor for install is free plus they ordered the parts for the problem I was having with my reverse. I am so happy and somewhat excited about the prospect of a new centerforce clutch. Hopefully a bad *** clutch will not disintegrate on me.
I guess I got a bad one from the Chrysler...
Anyone have a Centerforce clutch? If so how do you like it? Will it make the clutch pedal feel more firm...I prefer a firmer pedal.
Scary thing is that I was out at Upper Woody a few nights before it went out...It could have gone bad then.
That kind of reliability is scary, thus the reason I am opting for a nicer brand than Mopar.

I did...the computer is down:banghead:Im calling back in a few hrs...I buy everything from Cole. I didn't start spending there until June and since it has been the most satisfying way to go through $2,500 in 6 months. All my parts arrive to my door within 24 hrs. Probably not this time since its thanksgiving tommorow but thats fine.

How exactly is all the installation free? You doing it yourself?
Also, how much for the clutch? Is it two stage? Three stage?
I just put my old clutch back in the Jeep. It should hold up for another 50,000 miles. Please let the board know how you like it. I too like a firmer clutch pedal, and mine is pretty soft at the moment.

I think it is free becasue they can warranty the other items aside from the disc and they had my Jeep for 22 days without looking at it and lied to me a little so I think they might be offereng some free labor to make me not pissed. Also had to drop the tranny for the reverse issue which is also covered. They were going to cover everything but the disc. They said the pressure plate was under warranty and thats cool but I have enough money for the Centerforce and they will put it in for me so I guess I am a little happy. I should get 150,000 miles out of a good clutch.

Good to hear that it finally got diagnosed.
Maybe 6-speed(usually broken) can eventually become 6-speed(still works):auto:

Until the next time...seriously I will have to consider the change...I will give it a few thousand miles first.

What company was this with? They had the Jeep for 22 days without looking at it? Is this from the dealer?
Also, how much was the clutch?

I put a centerforce in my Cherokee, had a nice easy pedal so my wife could drive it but had the extra holding power needed for my bigger engine. I cant remember which one I got but it was the one with the counter weights on the fingers. Don

hate to burst your bubble but id be very very surprised if you got that.
that number is assuming you hit every shift just right never take off hard and never wheel.
id figure more like 100-110.
i dont know much about centerforce but the shop where i work(Patrick Motorsports) sells them and about 98% of whats done there is racing application Porsches.

I got 175,000 out of my dad's Cummins Ram with over 440ft lbs of torque with tons of off roading, the clutch was slipping the last few weeks before I traded it in...I wish I had kept it 21mpg in the city on 35's! I also know one guy who got 165,000 out of a stocker while wheeling in places like Johnson Valley regularly.
I think a Centerforce could easily last 150,000 in a Jeep.
Edit: Honestly it doesn't matter because I will have an Auto around the 70-100k mark...post warranty mod.
