I'm guessing that everyone is somewhat familar with these trails. If not, most of the Florence area has bypasses for the real difficult stuff. If you are stock, just expected to be clanking around on a few things, specially creek bottom rocks. Looking forward to seeing everyone this afternoon and having some fun!
Anyone up for one of these time slots? I want to get my Dad out while down here, but these are the only times that will work. Florence area.
Any takers?

How late of a start in the afternoon? A trip up Elvis and out Box would keep it in mostly daylight, maybe.

Looks like it is a go! Sunday works best for me.
I know Upper Woodpecker very well, but would like to do something else. Who knows the trails best? Elvis?

What time do you want to meet on Sunday? Price road would be the best location to meet, since Elvis is before Box Canyon.

Once you get into the right wash its pretty straight forward just follow the dirt road. Have done it several times in the past, but has been the beginning of the year since I have been up there.
For Ryan and whoever else that hasn't been out there, take 60 East to Florence Junction take Hwy 79 South not sure how many miles but once you cross the second Railroad track crossing on Hwy 79 Price Road is on the left. If you cross the bridge into Florence you have gone too far. But if you need gas there is a Chevron about a mile from Price road on 79.
1:30 sounds good to me, see everyone there.

We missed you digger. Hung out for a while, even sent someone to cottonwood canyon in case you thought we were there.
Had a great run. Got out of elvis and up the ridge just as the sun was setting, so we got a cool seat for that.
Al in all, fun, no damage.
I was sort of dissapointed to see that someone has opened up a NEW bypass. Not the one up the hill to the left where you would normaly climb the little wall to the right or go hard right through the fun stuff. But... this one is before the place where there is aeither the v notch to sort of straddle or the steep hill you go right up then right back down (when then around the corner is the smooth waterfall). Anyway, someone cut up the hill to the left. It's pretty loose and the tracks were spun out good, but it looks REALLY new. I didn't noticce it last month when I was there.
It was good to meet some new people to! Looking forward to next time!

Sorry I didn't get there at planned time, got held up,
I did get to the area, but knew I wasn't going to catch up with the run. So I hit a few easy trails, and watched the sun set, took a few pictures, while waiting to see if you guys would exit where I was sitting after dark. Saw some jeeps go by, I was on Cotton lane with the white 98XJ my dogs were enjoying stretching their legs running around the desert near the jeep.
Well if the jeeps that drove by were any of you,,,, HERE'S YOUR WAVE

BTW a few AZVJC friends are stopping by for turkey feast on Thanksgiving, it's informal and no time restrictions, the food will be here, and should be ready to start serving around noon, people will be popping in and out through out the day for feast, Revolving door fashion, all are welcome to feast just drop me a note, if you would like to stop by for turkey so I know how long 16 lbs of turkey will hold out and bring your choice of beverage
There are so many kinds of yams, whazup with that? had to do a candied yam test in kitchen this evening...ooh all taste good
I think even something yuckie like Okra would taste good with the buttery candied sauce I make to pour over yams
