Well, it could be a nice making a nice dinner for her then cleaning up the dishes myself.

Could have been the time I sprung a surprise trip out of town for the weekend without telling her where to go.

Could have been proposing to my now ex wife using a hot air balloon.
(yeah that was sappy)

Course now I am a single guy so I don' really know anything.

Took her on a cruise. Then got dumped shortly after. I still like to throw romance out there but I see it's a bit over rated on girls my age now a days. they just don't enjoy it as much!

Wow!
OK.
I've loved her unconditionally. That in itself should be enough, but I know how you wimmins LOVE the details, so let's just get to those!

I planned a complete surprise trip to Las Vegas, where I proposed to her over dinner at the Stratosphere. I actually got on one knee and proposed to her in front of GOD AND EVERYBODY! Thank GOD she was afraid of heights and was drinking, because she said "Yes"!! JK, she loved me, too... But the other story is more believable!

We Wed the next day at the Chapel of The Chimes, and proceeded to enjoy our reception at the biggest party of the year in Vegas... New Years Eve! That was in 1997, (Soon to be 1998) and for those who aren't so mathmaticly inclined, this New Year's is our 10th anniversary!

I "kidnapped" her (With the help of friends) on an Anniversary, (Trust me, she had NO idea! She thought we were "Test Driving" the car we were driving!!) and took her back to Las Vegas, for a couples anniversary party. Wow! Thanks to Delores and Terry for their help!!
What a GOOD time!

Not an Anniversary, but one of the "Vacations" we took was a tour of Arizona. We basicly covered the state from Tucson to Page, saw allot of the sights, but the best part was all the windshield time just being together!

The romance works the other way, too.

She signed us up for a "Time Share" sales pitch in Las Vegas for one of our anniversarys.

That turned out to be a very memorable experience.

That's all I'll say. :2thumbsup:

It isn't terribly romantic, but it does get her attention. On a date (usually a first or second), I'll reach into my pocket and pull out my cellphone. She'll figure I'm checking for messages or scores and get a little annoyed. Then I turn it off, look up and say something like "Just turning it off. You were the only one I was planning on talking to tonight, and since you're right across from me, I won't need this." and put the phone away. It really isn't much, but it does let her know that she's special tonight.

A few years ago my wife said we should get one of those cute jeeps so she could drive it to work. I said what do you want to do that for?

Months later for her birthday I bought an 01 green TJ at the auction. My friend is an auto wholesaler so I left it there to get it detailed. On her birthday, before lunch, I took it to her work, backed her Expedition out of her covered parking spot and pulled in the shiny TJ. I then attached a huge red bow that covered the entire hood and took the keys up to her secretary. I got in the Expedition and went home.

Lunch was special for her and dinner was special for me. She drove it only once to work but she loves to ride the trails with me.

The most romantic thing, well I took Cindy to the NHRA drags @ firebird. It was her first time so I stood her directly behind a Nitro funny car as the started it in the pits. The look on her face when those Nitro fumes got to her was priceless, PRICELESS!

Ok, SAP here for sure...

This was our 3rd True Anniversary, 12 years of marriage.

Surprise trip to the Hotel Del Coronado for 3 days (spent with great meals, long walks on the beach, a day of shopping, then topped off with a two day stay with friends in Dana Point. So I took her to a secluded spot on the beach in the morning, gave her 3 different color roses (ties into the 3 anniversaries) and told her what each color meant to me in our relationship over the years.

I do other stuff all the time, like leaving her notes or flowers in her car for her to find when she comes out in the morning, all sorts of little stuff.

Don't want to even admit what I am going next year for number 4...

Day off for me as my work was closed for a holiday, end of long work week for her.

She comes home to a house with the lights down low, smooth Jazz on the radio, a trail of lit candles to a bubble bath surrounded by more candles. I have just opened her favorite white wine, and hand feed her from a selection of chocolates, and a fruit and cheese board while she relaxes in the tub.

Then we graduated to a full body massage with her favorite body oils.

It was not a birthday or other special occasion, just had the time to do something nice for the woman I loved.

PS, also made sure the house was spotless and the toilet seat was down.

Not long after that she met me at the door with my favorite beer in one hand wearing an exceptional Teddy.

I miss her sometimes.

I have a terrible short term memory, so I may have done something better than this since then. The night I proposed to April....I took her dancing under the stars in the desert near Hoover Dam. Help me out here honey....what else did I do that night, I'm drawing a blank. I remember 1 New Years Eve on a blanket in the sand....was that you too babe? Dang....I wish I hadn't done all those drugs in my youth.

I love you April.:001_icon16::wub:

when me and my ex-wife were first living together we lived in a horrible 70's singlewide out in Picture Rocks. the water heater was always crapping out on us leaving us with no hot water. one night she said she was gonna stop by her mom's house to take a hot bath and I told her just to come home and we could go back to her mom's together and then get some dinner. instead I heated up every big pot i had filled with water on my outdoor propane grill and had the tub filled with steaming hot water when she walked in the door.

other time we were out doing our nightly walk around the desert when suddenly a fairly big dog came rushing out of a neighbors yard going after her. i picked her up with one arm, swung her around tossing her away from the dog and then faced down the rushing dog. he scrambled to a stop when it saw me ready for him and backed up, but i was ready to throw down with him...lol. the look in her eyes when I helped her up was an awesome feeling.

Well where do you start? ......
I randomly take her flowers to work, meet with her for lunch. One Saturday evening took her to Tempe town lake rented one of thier big boats, drove out on the water and stop the motor, pulled out a little cd player with remote speakers and a bottle of wine and we dance on the boat under the stars. We have driven to the top of local mountains and dance to the radio in the jeep, under the moonlight. Proposed on christmas eve in front of all the family. And she in return has done many many things as well, like helping to wrench on the jeep:love:. All kidding aside, she puts speacial things in my luggage when I have to travel, wich is quite often. I once was in Oklahoma for three weeks so I bought her a plane ticket to come spend the weekend. We ended up renting a car and traveling all of Ok. and found a little farm community having a quilting competition, she loves to quilt, that made her whole weekend.

Roses, candels, dinners and stars, been there. I think one of the best was when I just started living with my wife. I had worked some long shift at work. 18 hours or something stupid if I recall. I was wiped, tired and all I wanted to do was go to sleep.

Well, when I had left for work, my wife had been sick, just the sniffles and the "yucks". Through out the day it got worse. By the time I got home, like 1 AM, I walked into our bedroom and she was in bad shape. Had a fever of 102 and going up. Through out the night I cleaned out the buckets, cleaned the bathroom so she would have a spotless bathroom, added blankets, got medicine, and every 20 minutes I went and cooled her down with washtowles in cool water. At one point it was close to 104 and I was getting scared.

Finally, it broke around 4 or 5. I never went to sleep and stayd up in the morning so she could sleep in, to take care of her 3 year old son in the morning. Really cant call it romantic but I earned some crazy bonus Man Points. She still tells her freinds about that night.

What I have done for Tammy. Other than just loving her I Propesed to her live on KMLE She said yes,
Then after that I went to her work and proposed in person. Yes again,
I gave her a choice of an engagement ring or a 3in lift for our Jeep. (Got the lift)
Taking her to the lake to a secluded cove, Dinner when we can.
The thing she likes the most is when I drive the trail and then I let her drive home.
Wedding will be in June
