Actually I am not sure yours are the 35c I think your dana35 holds in the shafts like a dana44 with a retaining plate behind the brake. I know that earlier YJ's are not c-clip, newer ones on the TJ are. Not 100% but am pretty sure you need non c-clip dana35 shafts. Might be just as easy to find, you will find out as I did when my 35 grenaded how much easier it is to remove the axle from a semi-floater rather than the Tj's c-clip. With the c-clip you have to take off the diff cover, remove the center pin and then remove the spiders to et the c-clips out...I think that is how it goes...still much more of a pain than removing the 4 retaining bolts and sliding it out, no need for gear lube and rtv and drip pans.

Also you do not lose you wheel when your axle breaks...the axle shaft remains in the housing. This is a nice touch.

I dont think TJ shafts will work becasue they do not have retaining plates.

Juat make sure you have the shafts you need, dont want to see you break out on the trail just to find out you have the wrong type of dana35 shaft.

ya for sure.
i was under the impression that that chrysler yj's have 35c's and the amc's have the 35's.

ill have to look into it.
cant wait to swap that crap for an 8.8...

Just blow yours up like did and then you will have to do the 8.8. :punk:

Let me know when you do find out about your axles...I am curious which they are...I am certainly not a YJ expert and I would hate to think of myself as a dana35 expert. hahaha. Maybe ask in GD...someone has to know.

BTW, you might want some spare spider gears too, they are almost as commonly broken as shafts and mine took out the ring and pinon gears...not fun to change, but cheap if not free and could save your butt someday to have a set in your trail tools...

welcoms to dana35 heaven...if its not the gears its the shafts, if not that the housing. The 8.8 is a great choice for your YJ I must say. The HP30 with TJ shafts and the 8.8 are going to be stellar with 35's.
