I'm leaning toward agreeing with Doug. I do like the idea of doing a sticker/card for discounts etc. With enough "members" we should be able to get some sort of discount with most of the 4x4 shops, but it can get pretty expensive &; involved if we start looking at t-shirts, etc. Not only is the cost to print involved, but the cost of somebody's time to arrange everything. I like the idea that we are a lose group of people that can get together randomly to take trips etc. -Melinda

Subject: alternator suggestions?
hey all --
I've got an old CJ5 that's in need of a better alternator. The engine is a
Buick V6 (stock Dauntless 225) that has a GM style alternator. Can I get the
alternator rebuilt so that it can output more juice, or do I need to find a
new higher-output unit to swap in? I'm looking for something with quite a bit
of output, because I've got a winch and offroad lights that I will be using
often.
4Wheelers Supply suggested I take my alternator to CopperState Electrical.
Any other recommendations?
Oh, one more thing ... MeanGreen recently introduced a line of alternators to
compliment their starters. Anyone here tried one or seen one of their
alternators?
TIA,
Jeff

I have a 75WX-ST and I think it is great. It is easy to remove when the Jeep not in a secure area. The output power is the same as other CB's. The only problem I've noticed is the channel selector and mike button are close together on the side and sometimes I change the channel when I'm trying to talk. I think you can lock the channel to avoid that, but I haven't read the manual yet.

Hi all! Thanks for all the suggestions a couple weeks ago for trails
around Sunflower and that area. I didn't get to make any runs that
weekend, but now I'm back from vacation and starting to get back into
things.
I'm needing to get a CB so I can more easily join the fun and trips.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to get or not to get??
I've been looking at the Cobra 75 WX-ST - the one with the remote mount
and the handset holds everything. Does anyone have any experience with
this model and recommend or not recommend it? I was thinking of this
model for security reasons mostly, but also thought I could use it in
both my vehicles. It runs around $90 - $100 from what I've seen. I'm
not limited to that, so any suggestions as to what to look for, what's a
waste or money, etc. will help me out.
How about antenna's? I keep hearing the FireStick is the way to go
there. I plan to mount that on the rear tire stop on the Jeep.
Tow hooks is the second order of business. I had the standard front tow
hooks (Steelhorse I think) on my '91 YJ, but then I put on a double tube
bumper. This new bumber sticks up higher over the front frame so the
hooks won't mount there anymore. I've seen the upright style hooks on
the TJ's, which would work perfectly for this, but I haven't seen them
in the shops or catalogs. Any ideas how to mount the hooks I've got or
where to get these TJ style hooks? I could probably order them from a
dealer if all else fails, but I'm assumming that wouldn't be the least
expensive of all routes.
I think the logo for shirts, stickers, etc is a great idea! I liked the
one design already presented that had the computer with big tires. I
agree tho - add more slats to the computer to make it more 'Jeep like'.
That's a neat idea. Maybe make the total design a circle or oval with
the club name curved around the top and the web address curved around
the bottom maybe, or place it over/inside an outline of the state or a
cactus (I think this was already mentined too) Great design work on
those 3 ideas! Very nicely done!
I don't recall if I linked to this site from here or not, but I thought
these were great and I've got one ordered for myself! Thought some of
you might like this as well.

Jeff,
Call Genstar and see what they can do for you, they can tell you exactly
what you can and can't do with a alternator... And if memory serves me
right they are not that expensive.. They are listed in the yellow pages and
are located in Glendale in the area of 61st Ave and Glendale...
Happy hunting...

Hey all,
Our home page talks about how best of all "no dues".
Because we are a no dues club is probably part of the reason we now have over 140 members. There is no reason to make Jeeping even more expensive. Offroading is a good place to escape the burden of everyday buisness life. I'd rather keep it that way.

I would also recommend Copper State Electrical. I've dealt with them for
over a year at work and they turn out an exceptionally high quality product.
When you go, ask for Dan and tell him that I sent you.
And thanks for reminding me that I need to go see him too so that he can

Okay, I'll be the first to admit it's a little rough, but then again so
are my Jeeps. I threw together a quick pen-and-ink and put it out as the
intro page to the newly revised website. Take a look at the drawing,
tell me what you think and then check out the site. I've heard a bunch
of comments recently that there were a bunch of broken links. I finally
had some time to really look into it, and y'all were right. Hope I got
it right this time.
In the works: A technical department, including one of our original
reasons for getting together, which was product reviews. DougB posted
one here recently, and I will try to add more later. I'm also going to
try to add in technical tips fo the various Jeep models, including
specific issues seen here in the desert Southwest that mud boggers back
east migh not have (cooling a vinyl seat on a 110 degree day, etc). For
those of you who have sent me Jeep descriptions but haven't found
yourself posted yet on the Members page, I am trying to get to those
next. The broken links were really eating at me, so they took priority
in what little time I already have.
I seem to remember 'no reverse' Larry as saying something awhile back
about being able to put any logo on a shirt or mousepad or something.

I've got a 2-core from my 89 Cherokee you can have. Only problem is, I
don't know if you've got the remote filler or not. If you do, this will
fit until you can get another one. Give me a call @ 480-567-1320
tomorrow if you're interested; I'm in Chandler.
I picked up a new 3-core w/lifetime wnty last year for $125 from
Industrial Radiator Supply in Phoenix. They are apparently the jobber
that supplies many of the radiators found in local auto stores anyway,
and you save the costs of the middle man. IRS is at 2401 W McDowell,

Sorry, can't help on the missing lawnchairs or sleeping bags...

Thanks for any suggestions/comments on the CB and tow hooks.

Call Genstar and see what they can do for you, they can tell you exactly
what you can and can't do with a alternator... And if memory serves me

Hi all
Shannon Franks drew up a logo entry last night....I'll get it scanned ASAP
and get it posted so everyone can look at it.
Another thing: I've noticed a couple of emails addressed specifically to me
on the list.....perhaps my signature file is creating some some confusion.
I am the email list administrator for the International Full Size Jeep

Hey all,
Our home page talks about how best of all "no dues".
Because we are a no dues club is probably part of the reason we now have over 140 members. There is no reason to make Jeeping even more expensive. Offroading is a good place to escape the burden of everyday buisness life. I'd rather keep it that way.

Hey!! I saw my name mentioned! I've been thinking about registering,
but now you may have gone too far and gotten me off my butt so I have to
do something <G> Sounds good to me, but what's this "information
exchanging service" part of the whole thing vice "club"??
BTW, I think I took care of a bunch of broken links, but would like some
verification from third parties. Would y'all mind taking a look at it to
see if I did it right this time?
Thanks,
Jim yucca-man@j...

Dave,
I've got a 2-core from my 89 Cherokee you can have.
IRS is at 2401 W McDowell,
(800)922-9606. Give them a call.
Sorry, can't help on the missing lawnchairs or sleeping bags...
Jim
