FWIW, the reason for the suggestion wasn't to organize the group...I like it loose as it is...that's how we set it up last summer. My thought was rather to support the State Assn., which works hard on our behalf to keep trails open. Some may not be aware, but this is a constant struggle, and there are active groups that would like to close many trails to off roading. It takes a good state assn. to help counter this. Also, club membership would provide everyone w/ permits to go on State Trust lands.
Either way, I'd encourage any who are interested in preserving our access to trails and public land to join the assn., if not as a group, then individually. The web site is www.asa4wdc.org/asa4wdc/
Again...just some thoughts.

You guys are scaring me, this is getting very serious. More then just a date.... Do we want to really formalize this group or maybe keep it loose and wild? Iam not leaning either way but thought it should be considered. There are a lot of groups that startup get organized and die, or get personalities involved that kill them, (no one we have met with AZVJC). This group has flourished, partly because it is loose. I really liked the logos that Jon did, I would chip in to do something with that.
Just loose thoughts, Iam ready for the weekend.

I agree with this idea. Even though I live in Safford, and my opportunity to
participate in M day's is limited, I feel this is an important step to club
strength. I would support the idea of T-shirts also. It is a great thing to
advertise for your Club, and the money is always needed for R&D(research and
development). The cost would be very little concerning the benefit of the
out come. Thumbs up on this one!!!!

I am going to Tucson some time real soon, and maybe I might find a good deal
there also. The guy from Flagstaff might have the radiator your looking for.
Good luck! I was watching 20/20 last week,(rerun I think), and they were
showing the top vehicles for car theft. The Cherokee XJ was one of the 4x4's
right at the top of the preference list by auto thieves. I guess it is time
that I too get a car alarm for my XJ with all the extra money that I am

Subject: Re: Membership cards/Logo contest
1) I like #1 since not all AZVJC members drive CJ/YJ/TJs!
2) Many home computer printers have the capability of printing T-shirt
transfers so the cost of putting the logo on a t-shirt can be left to the
individual member. Or maybe an AZVJC member can print the transfers and sell
them for a reasonable price.
3) I would prefer a decal over a t-shirt. Most home computer printers can't
handle printing decals, but the cost of printing decals isn't that expensive.
I'll check with the AZ Lo-Rangers 4WDC and find who they use. I'll be happy to
be the distributor if we decide to do this.
4) I like the idea of keeping the AZVJC as a group "outside" the ASA4WDC, but
I also encourage members to (a) join the ASA4WDC as an individual member or
(b) join an established 4x4 club that is a member of the ASA4WDC. It may cost
a few bucks a year, but the ASA4WDC (as well as the Blue Ribbon Coalition,
United Four Wheel Drive Assoc, People for the West, Tread Lightly, etc.) are
all working at keeping public lands accessible to the public and motorized
travel/activities. This is important! There are a lot of groups out there who
are doing everything possible to convert vast tracts of public land into
wilderness areas with the intent of keeping the public out! Once trails are
closed, it is extremely difficult to get them reopened! Ask the Tucson Rough
Riders 4WDC about the Charouleau Gap Trail.

Ok, I'm going to try and send this again, this is buisness card I made with
Lotus wordpro. This card was made for the maintance run so everyone would
have something to show to get the discount. You have to have Lotus Wordpro
to view this, I tried to save it with different formats but it wasn't
working right.
However someone sent E-mail that said that they lived in the area of 67th
and Glendale, but the information is on my other computer. So if that
person wants to meet with me at the corner of 67th Ave and Glendale on the
south/east corner at around 6:30 pm or so, I can give you a card that you
can scan and post for me since I don't have the proper equipment to do so..
If this is something everyone likes I can even go one step further and add
names to the cards if they liked, and the cost would be very low to create
this...
Thanks, Jeff W. 95 Wrangler..

Just throwing my 2 cents in. I like the people and the informality of the
group. The way it is set up you only have to participate when you want and
no one (except possibly moderator Dan) have too much to do but join in when
they want. The group will flourish because it isn't a great strain on
anyone. I'm for keeping it loose and letting e-group and PhotoPoint handle
the rest. It works.

HI ALL,
I have some BulletProof MFG bumpers for sale. You can check them out on their website at: http://www.bulletproofmfg.com/
I have just about every option on these bumpers front and rear.
The Front is the FF1 with shackle mounts and D-Rings, 2" receiver hitch, light tabs, and winch mount.
The Rear is the FF1RS with shackle mounts and D-Rings, 2" receiver hitch, swingout tire carrier, gas can mount, water mount, and ricochet rack.
These are in great shape they have only been offroad twice. They are guaranteed not to bend or break. If you are serious about bumpers and protecting your jeep TJ email me. I will sell them separately or as a complete set.

Subject: CB's and Tow Hooks
Hi all! Thanks for all the suggestions a couple weeks ago for trails
around Sunflower and that area. I didn't get to make any runs that
weekend, but now I'm back from vacation and starting to get back into
things.
I'm needing to get a CB so I can more easily join the fun and trips.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to get or not to get??
I've been looking at the Cobra 75 WX-ST - the one with the remote mount
and the handset holds everything. Does anyone have any experience with
this model and recommend or not recommend it? I was thinking of this
model for security reasons mostly, but also thought I could use it in
both my vehicles. It runs around $90 - $100 from what I've seen. I'm
not limited to that, so any suggestions as to what to look for, what's a
waste or money, etc. will help me out.
How about antenna's? I keep hearing the FireStick is the way to go
there. I plan to mount that on the rear tire stop on the Jeep.
Tow hooks is the second order of business. I had the standard front tow
hooks (Steelhorse I think) on my '91 YJ, but then I put on a double tube
bumper. This new bumber sticks up higher over the front frame so the
hooks won't mount there anymore. I've seen the upright style hooks on
the TJ's, which would work perfectly for this, but I haven't seen them
in the shops or catalogs. Any ideas how to mount the hooks I've got or
where to get these TJ style hooks? I could probably order them from a
dealer if all else fails, but I'm assumming that wouldn't be the least
expensive of all routes.
I think the logo for shirts, stickers, etc is a great idea! I liked the
one design already presented that had the computer with big tires. I
agree tho - add more slats to the computer to make it more 'Jeep like'.
That's a neat idea. Maybe make the total design a circle or oval with
the club name curved around the top and the web address curved around
the bottom maybe, or place it over/inside an outline of the state or a
cactus (I think this was already mentined too) Great design work on
those 3 ideas! Very nicely done!
I don't recall if I linked to this site from here or not, but I thought
these were great and I've got one ordered for myself! Thought some of
you might like this as well.
http://members.spree.com/sports/jeep10/
Thanks for any suggestions/comments on the CB and tow hooks.

I don't think that creating a T-shirt,( that is not mandatory to buy), or a
few stickers, is going too far into club organization. This is no different
then if we all had our own T-shirts made at the mall. At least this way they
will all look the same. And if your not into wearing T-shirts, that's OK, I
don't believe anyone wants to make this a mandatory purchase. Outside of
that, I also believe that we shouldn't push the big club organization thing.
This is just a little informal wear to add to our personal wardrobe, but yet
feel different then the other guys(gals) that drive Chevys, Fords, Toyotas,
etc. This message is not meant to cause any waves. It is just a thought.
Thank you for listening.

I don't believe that buying a T-shirt is being organized. After all, it is
not a contract or anything. And they are not mandatory. Just another piece
of clothing, but with the exception of showing a little pride in who we are,
and what we believe in(everyone welcome, no lines, easy going, FRIENDS).
If we don't get carried away, simple can be fun!
Just a thought.

Good point Doug, We joined the Asso. right after we joined up with AZVJC. We should do things to help the State Assn. no doubt. When we have our Maint. Run maybe we should get them involved and even get a little positive press if possible. An example is that right now Bill and Hillary are trying very hard to Close Moab and turn it into a Sierra Club type only park.....NO vehicles.........Look at this months National Geographic and see the coordinated effort, very scary. I am onboard with any idea to prevent this sort of Environmental Fascism.
We are new to the group but have really gotten into it since we started. I just like the free wheeling aspect of it. we will support any efforts that members want to propose. I like the number two drawing, but it still needs an emblem on the mouse....FORD....In honor of my best buddy and Jeep guru William.....who learned everything he knows from fixing Fords......;-}>

If this is something everyone likes I can even go one step further and add
names to the cards if they liked, and the cost would be very low to create
this...

I agree with Dan, the more organized the less I am inclined.
I guess that's why we drive Jeeps so that we do not have to "Stay between the
