I have had my jeep for about 4 years now and haven't had the time or the money to get out there and do some wheeling. Also I had to rebuild the motor that didnt help much. Anyway, I was wondering how tough or what classification Table Mesa Road east towards Seven Springs is? Is that a good trail for a rookie to be on? If so how do I find a few people that would be interested in going and wouldn't mind teaching us rookies?

Thanks,

Tim :)

yes Table Mesa East is a good trail for beginners. Its abouta 2.0

It has some mild climbs, a few water crossings (fairly shallow) and some rocks to play on.

As for someone to take you and teach...watch for runs...or go to the runs section and post up you'd like to run it...and ask for a leader to take you thru it and show you the ropes.

Im sure someone will head out there with ya

Normally, when folks are looking to make a run they post it here:

http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/forumdisplay.php?f=66

Many times you will see folks who are wanting to lead a group, requesting a leader, or just fishing to see if there is interest for a run.

In the Arizona Trails Thread, at the top of the page, is treated somewhat as a "guide" to named trails. If you are researching a run, look here FIRST to see if a trail guide is already in place with the information that you are looking for.

When researching a trail, you can also simply use the forum's "Search" feature for all topics that mention that particular trail. You will have to piece together information if a "guide" is not present or adaquate.

Lastly, google the trail. I don't want to redirect traffic to other forums, but untill we add more detailed trail information on AZVJC, sometimes you have to go elsewhere for what you need. Unfortunately, our lower end trail guides are scarce (2.5 and below).

Keep in mind that trail ratings are somewhat relative. Best thing to do is go with at least one other vehicle if possible and prepare for the worst if it is new to you both. My last trip was new to me and I was way over prepared for it.. no harm no foul.

I personally check the threads for all runs 3.5 and below quite regularly to see if I can make the trip, as I am sure others do as well.

--- Here is a link to my last run and thread as I was fishing for interest.

and the resulting AZ Trail Guide:

Good luck and hope to meet ya on the trail.

Dan

Actually, it seems our AZ Trail Guide needs an update for Table Mesa East.

I haven't researched this fully yet but I would be interested in a trip here (many other members have been here to wheel or participate in a clean up)... maybe the Friday/Sat after Thanksgiving?

Anyways, I'll post something in the runs later next week and PM you when I do if this fits your schedule. I also have to double check my schedule.. :)
