Hi Joe,
Welcome to the club! Looks as if there is going to be
a group from the Phoenix area getting together and going up.
I am going to try and coordinate it so the
Tucson group can meet up with the Phoenix group
on the way up. We are leaving Tucson at 5PM and
geting to Phoenix around 7PM? We will be
arriving in Clints Wells pretty late. I think some
people would like to get there a bit earlier.
Maybe leave with the Copperstate group?
Can anyone help Joe out here?

You guys are scaring me, this is getting very serious. More then just a date.... Do we want to really formalize this group or maybe keep it loose and wild? Iam not leaning either way but thought it should be considered. There are a lot of groups that startup get organized and die, or get personalities involved that kill them, (no one we have met with AZVJC). This group has flourished, partly because it is loose. I really liked the logos that Jon did, I would chip in to do something with that.
Just loose thoughts, Iam ready for the weekend.

I agree with this idea. Even though I live in Safford, and my opportunity to
participate in M day's is limited, I feel this is an important step to club
strength. I would support the idea of T-shirts also. It is a great thing to
advertise for your Club, and the money is always needed for R&D(research and
development). The cost would be very little concerning the benefit of the
out come. Thumbs up on this one!!!!

I created 3 logo samples and was finally able to get PhotoPoint to accept
them as photos. Check them out. For those interested, I used Corel Xara 2.0
to do the work. The clips came from MasterClips Vector Graphic collection.
I used about a dozen clips in all and took pieces from each to make what
you see here. If anyone has other ideas I would be happy to try them.

Hi Joe,
Welcome to the club!

Just thought I would throw in my 2 cents worth....
I think this is a great idea, and we could even take it a step further by
seeking club discounts at local dealers, and off-road supply stores.
I submitted a logo to the group a couple of months ago, with the idea of
making t-shirts and mousepads for the group. I work with a guy who can do
the graphics, and the other work (i.e. printing on shirts, mousepads). He
and I have spoken, and when he returns from vacation in 2 weeks, I will send
out another e-mail to the group with another example of his work. We can get
a good price on a t-shirt & mousepad combo - if we want. Throw the idea
around, and let me know what you think please. please no flames!
I am attaching an example of his work that he did for another 4x4 club here
in the valley. This example is on a t-shirt.
Another thing.... I was on the first run the group ever did, and I loved it!
I am glad to see that the group is alive and well, and I hope to go out again
soon. But... we are in the process of starting a business, and devote all of
our time to that and our kids. I hope to meet some more of you all soon!

Ross has a good point. Some organizing of the group is good as well as possibly bad. Afterall, I believe we are the largest group in the state. Our membership in the ASA4WDC would give us some clout. We would then have a much louder voice in preventing future trail closures around the state. As a group we could have a bigger effect on the future of our hobby in the state and nationwide. Membership dues would cover membership for each individual in both the ASA4WDC as well as in the UFWDA. Membership grants us a state land use permit as well. I know plenty of us are currently breaking the law in this respect.
http://www.asa4wdc.org/
http://www.ufwda.org/
But, I think since we are a web based group, I'd like to think that we could leave internal politics out of this group and continue on in the tradition that we have set. As always any non members would always be welcome on any run. This afterall is not a fraternity. Just some food for thought. There are benefits and drawbacks. Either way we decide to go, my Jeep and I will always be ready to hit the trails with all of you :)

Well, looks like I'm out of this one. In giving the TJ a close inspection, I noticed that I have a badly bent lower front control arm bracket and one of the the welds are breaking. I didn't hurt it on the Tucson run, so it may have been that way for a bit, w/o me noticing it. So I'm out of it, till I get it fixed. Glad it didn't go out on the trail.

OK. Let's give this a try. Who, from Phoenix, is planning on the Rim for the 4th? The Tucson Chapter will be here (Phoenix) round 7pm. Who's interested in hooking up....who's interested in heading up earlier...later?
Shoot a note, so we can get a count.
Thanks

Hi Joe,
Welcome to the club!

Or, to look at all of the AZ-VJC pictures, go to:

I will be assigning random numbers to each of the pictures that are sent.
After we vote on these concepts, we can still fine tune the winner as Scott

I created 3 logo samples and was finally able to get PhotoPoint to accept
them as photos. Check them out. For those interested, I used Corel Xara 2.0
to do the work. The clips came from MasterClips Vector Graphic collection.
I used about a dozen clips in all and took pieces from each to make what
you see here. If anyone has other ideas I would be happy to try them.
