So after waiting just over 7 years I got my ride in a F16. All I can say is I am beat and can't wait to get some sleep tonight. There is nothing that can compare to this ride. I got a chance to fly a little bit, do a max climb take off, and pull 8.8g's! We also passed over Prescott, Sedona, Flagstaff and made our way to the Grand Canyon. I took a few pictures while being up and thought I would share. There are also some pics from before we started that my wife was taking. Enjoy, there are more pics on the Photobucket link below.

No re-enlist here, just been working them for the last 7 years and all Dedicated Crew Chiefs at luke get a ride. Well they are suppose to get a ride. I won't re-enlist till 09. I know there are a few others on here that have gotten rides too, Stoodty, jake_f16. I think Stoodty said he was going to try to load up some of his pics.

Congrats on your ride. It took 19.75 years before I scored, but then again I was a hospital weenie. 7.5G, MacDill AFB, 314TFTS, 1990. At that time it was $10,000.00 per hour for my 1.5hr ride. Well spent, IMHO !

That's looks like it was fun! I got 3 rides so far, 2 in a F15D, and 1 in an Eagle last year. I just got here to Luke, so I'm looking forward to flying in one of these lawndarts!
I almost blacked out twice!! When they said you would see tunnel vision, they weren't joking!
By the way, how many baggies did you fill???

No baggies filled. The only part were I felt like I was going to be sick was on landing everything else was fine. That tunnel vision creeps up real quick.

Thats funny. I have to say no, Viper wasnt up there. We were riding our motorcycles through Payson about that time.
His call sign wasnt Viper, but he was a well trained aviator teaching the finer points of DACT over Miramar in a VF-126 Adversary A-4M Skyhawk.

You are getting a lot of this already, but here it is again: I am insanely jealous. :D I had to settle for a ride in a lowly Tweet. My dream ride is still an F-15, though. Or maybe an Su-27/37
Nice pic of Prescott, too! My ala mater is dead-center in that photo! Was that intentional?
Thanks for sharing!

Not to hijack the thread, but it looks like there's enough of ya'll that are looking for a similar thrill. An F-16 ride is probably out of reach for most of us, but nearly everyone can go for a ride in one of these out of Falcon Field in Mesa...

It might be slower, but nothing beats the sound, smell, and feel of a round engine! The pilot will likey give you the controls, too! :)

Figher Combat International down at Willy is a blast, too! You can get an aerobatic flight, or a dogfight flight between you and your best buddy. :)

It is a bit pricey, though.

Outstanding! I got a ride when I was an SQ/CC at Luke in early 2001. Am retired now, but I'll never forget my ride. You're absolutely right. Words don't do it justice, you can't explain the rush, you have to experience it for yourself.
(BTW, I pulled 9+ Gs--got my certificate!).
