Took the CJ-5 out...what a nice drive!

I have been wrenching on the CJ for days in preparation for Broken Arrow but never made it. I decided to take the CJ out to something coser to home. All in all it was great, Becca finally got to drive her Jeep on miles and miles of dirt roads.

Morgan, very cool... but where did you go?

We went out to Mountainaire and took FR 700 to some little road where I goofed around on some rocks I found once in the rain...they were actually a lot of fun in the rain. Then Becca drove us out all the way through to behind upper lake mary where we met up with lake mary road...nice little loop.

Our battery died in the camera before I could get more pics...really a shame 'casue Becca got two wheels off the ground at once in a ditch and the battery died...wheeling without a locker sure is fun, we almost got stuck.

As for the temp...I dont have a number for perfect, and that's what it was today. Ahh...global warming sure has it's upsides sometimes. If were all gonna die lets at least enjoy the weather.

I got a new clutch for it and once that is installed I plan on taking it to Phx around Christmas time...I'm gonna take the old highway down through Payson since I dont think it would like the crawl out of Camp Verde on the way down. Should be fun, maybe we can all do a Christmas CJ run somewhere mellow...Becca would kill me if I dented the rockers like my TJ.

Glad to see her on the road, Morgan! But, I have to say, just looking at those pictures makes my kidneys hurt...leaf springs + basalt = pain. :D

I must be getting older at a much faster pace, now. Our last TJ sold 10 days ago, and already I see a TJ drive by and I get all nostalgic, like "I remember the good old days...<sniff>" :rolleyes::D
