I am planning on doing the clutch on my CJ soon, I want to replace the pilot bearing, throwout bearing and clutch...plus the linkage that goes between the pedal and the tranny. If anyone could help me get a parts list it would help when I go get the parts.

first of all get the replacement clutch linkage from the dealer they have an updated part... that doesnt use the bell crank, No chance of it falling out, like it did on you at the cinders that one time.
You will need a good set of jack stands, and jack.
9/16" sockets for the bell housing bolts, Or they might be the 7/16" depending.
9/16" for the t-case.
5/16" for the drive line bolts.
umm...
drain pan...
I cant remember what size the bolts are for the skid, but I think they are 9/16 or 5/8 I dont recall.
to get the pilot bearing out, go to autozone, and rent the pilot bearing removal tool,
I thinik the bolts that hold the clutch on are 1/2" or 7/16" but some are also 3/8"
If I think of something else I will post back up.

Get the linkage from the dealer...like Planet Jeep?
Also I have tons of tools, I know I have those, except the pilot bearing removal tool which I planned to rent.
What I need to know it a list of parts...is it just a clutch, pilot bearing and throwout? If that's it then I already know what to do I guess.
That t-18/dana20 combo is gonna be heavy...but I am kind of excited...this will be fun!
I swear after that and a new exhaust this thing will be almost restored to 100% good working order...oh yeah, I think my headgasket is leaking...but that should be easy to replace, especially on the 4.2...I actually have found I really love working on that motor...it is beyond simple.

Also, what brands are better for clutches? Should I just get one at NAPA?

Just buy a decent one from napa,
As for parts, if you buy the "Clutch Kit" it should come with clutch disc, pressure plate, alignment pin/tool, pilot bearing/bushing, throw-out bearing.
and as for the linkage, yes, Planet Jeep, they may need to order it, but worth it. You will not have anymore falling out problems.

Nice, I never would have thought to go to planet for any of my CJ needs.
