Wondering if you all have seen this...
Granted whoever created this "guide" made it way too complicated, however his scoring method is pretty funny.
http://www.jeeptalk.org/jeep_wave.shtml
Some examples:
Bra (on a Jeep - how could you??): -1
Bloody seats: +2
Each chrome accessory currently shiny: -1
Lowered: -20
Top off; vehicle, driver, and all occupants covered with mud: +30

I've seen a version of the hierarchy but there were points added for having the windshield down and even more points for bugs in the driver's teeth.

I think everyone should implement the wave in one way or another. We are all driving our rigs for 1 reason, and it sure as hell isn't for the ride quality :p. We all have the same passion, and the least we can do is take 2 seconds to wave.:D

I'll respond the same way I respond to my wife when she complains about me watching Mash reruns..... If I have never seen it before.. It's new to me.

I would say that I get a wave from 25% of those I wave to..
I get the "who the hell is that" look from them (LOL)
that look is worth the wave <bg>

I ALWAYS use the southern rule:
Southern/rural locations: Raise fingers from steering wheel, nod
even for non jeepers. It's off road/redneck code.

I agree totally and with oil hitting $96.00 a barrel, it isn't for the mileage.
I have two XJ's and one TJ...People wave at me when I'm in the TJ or my rolled XJ but hardly ever when in the non-rolled XJ.
A Jeep, is a Jeep, is a Jeep....I even try to get the Liberty folks to wave!
Sometimes I blow the horn. I need to get the PA hooked up in my Jeep so I can yell at people...."Hey, you in the dark green Grand Cherokee, HI!!!!"
I couldn't say ZJ because they probably wouldn't understand........

Unfortunately, for now anyway, I live in So Cal where people don't wave AT ALL!!! Unless it's that one finger wave thing.
This webspace that I come to is a lifesaver for the memories of once having lived in beautiful Prescott where wheeling was only a stones throw away and Jeep people were real people, not someone who only bought a Jeep because they couldn't afford an H2.
