Good guess...

I haven't installed leopard yet, but I am gearing up for it...

The MAJOR benefit to leopard is it's better handling of threaded processes (which should increase the speed of the forum, especially during searches) and the backup capability (currently, I back up the entire server manually to a RAID array) using leopard's "time machine".

I'm planning on switching to the backup server, and installing leopard as soon as finals are done this weekend (so... sometime in the next couple of weeks).

I'm actually dreading the install just a bit... but I know I'm going to make the change so I should just bite the bullet and get it done :)

I'll let everyone know when I transition to the backup server and begin the process. Hopefully it is painless. (famous last words eh? :D )

I am with Rubicon Trail. I got home late from work last night and signed on around 10 I guess? I saw the message and was like "What's this? What?..... Uh oh, something must have gotten really bad and Joe put the board in time out....."

Funny... now that you mention it, people seem to be doing better today. Maybe a night with the family was good for everyone :)

The truth is; I was too lazy to bring up the backup server... so I just shut down the board.

First of all, thanks for all the hard work and L-O-N-G hours you put in on this.

Second, my wife agreed with the message you put up. I thought that it was a way to calm things down here as well.

Either way, you killed 3 birds with one stone:

1. The server maint.
2. Calming everyone down.
3. Making everyone spend time with their families!

Maybe we should all chip in parts and $$ get a Jeep together for you so that you can wheel with us!

Ordered Leopard server today... I'll warn everyone well in advance of the install (and actually... you'll notice a speed decrease when I switch to the backup server but it shouldn't last more than a day).
