Mounting A Viair Compressor Outside?

Am I going to run into issues if I mount a 400H Viair compressor under my 2001 Cherokee. I plan to have a plate fabbed to mount it on and it will be tucked up in the rear right quarter.

Am I going to have issue if I go through mud, etc.?

I don't have a viair, but I mounted mine under the back seat....and I believe mine is bigger than the viair......have compressor on one side and the tank on the other....

Yeah, that under-seat area is filled with other stuff right now.
