so me, bob, andy and glen went out to the white tanks (watson rd) yesterday to go run a sweet wash that andy and i had found about 2 years ago:D... we all met at ORi at about 9:30 and left for the trail... we got to the air down spot at about 10:00, and this guy on a little trail bike (like 80 cc) pulls up to us wearing an old randy travis shirt:confused:, and asks if we could help get his buddies jeep unstuck... with out second thoughts andy and glen headed to the dune, thinking that is where he was. bob disconnected his swaybar, and i aired down. and we figured we would meet andy and glen, and they would be done, and we would head to the wash. we head down to the dune, and they are just sitting there waiting for someting... we find out the guy is on his way to meet us at the dune. he is actually stcuk about 3 miles back in the mountains... so we finally meet the guy, and follow him to his jeep. when we get to the spot, we were kinda excited because it was actually on the way to where we were headed. we figured we would pull him out and head to the wash. well the guy on the mini bike misinformed us:mad:. there was a jeep stuck, but there was also a full size dodge stuck in front of the jeep:eek:... so the story of how the two got there.
the guy in the jeep was drunk, and decided he wanted to go wheelin, he went up this trail(that a stock jeep should not have been on) and like the white tank trails usually are, the trail ended at the top, and you had to turn around. well he didn't want to. we decided he was going to forge his own trial back down the other side of the hill. he got down to the bottom of the canyon, and found that he was in a bad perdicament. his jeep was stuck, and he was surrounded b y boulders the size of his STOCK tj. so at 2AM he decided it would be a good idea to walk all the way back to not only watson rd, but all the way to walmart, and call his buddy:eek:. his buddy comes with his full size dodge and towstraps, and they head out to the spot where he is stuck. they take the dogde up the trail BACKWARDS, and down the other side to pull out the jeep. well as you all know, the dirt is soft there... so of course the didn't do anything but get the dodge stuck:cool:.
so we get there and this dodge has all 4 wheels dug in the dirt, and has an enormous rock under it hanging on the skid. bob, got his jeep up ther and we decided that it would be best to just simply winch him out. NOT SIMPLE.. we had to hilift the truck several times to get rocks under the tires just so we could get it off the skid, then the dumb***** decide he would gun it, to try to get up on his own power. well he dug it back in:mad:... so after many attemps of trying to tell this idiot to not stomp the gas, we finally(after 2.5 hours) got the dodge out. now it was time for th jeep. well thank got it was a jeep(short, light, and nimble) we had to stack rocks over and over to get him not only out of the hole he was in, but also turned around a full 180 degrees:eek:. after another hour of us stacking rocks to get this other idiot turned around, we finally did. and we figured he would be able to make it up the hill on his own power. NOPE.. bald tires on open diffs in good old arizona soft dirt. we had to winch him the entire way up the hill..
all i got to say is thank goodness it wasn't to hot out.
oh and the guys were so thankfull, they even invited us to a bar-b-q back at their place:D... nice!
