This scenic trip is a nice one to check out some Northern wildlife, some Fall colors and of course the Mogollon Rim.

Starting at the Ranger's Station at the intersection of HWY 87 and FR 95 the drive becomes a bit dusty. These are all improved dirt roads (with the typical washboarding, although slight), however the adventure seeker can maneuver a number of side unmarked trails which may even require engaging 4WD.

In late October the broadleaf foliage was just beginning to turn colors while at a little lower elevation in the town of Pine, the golds and reds were out in full force.

A word of caution: Make sure you have decent tread on your tires or a spare. Once you get onto FR 300 the road and rocks gets more jagged, we witnessed 4 different vehicles with puncture flats on this single short trip.

The route:

Blue Dot: Moqui Lookout, a great view at 7465 Ft. Elevation which you are able to climb up the tower between the hours of 8:00am-4:30pm.
A few kayaks on on top and it would be just like the commercial.

Green Dot: East Clear Creek Crossing, a nice photo opportunity.

Pink Dot: The Rim
