Thanks for the chance to join and speak. I am one of two daughters born to Henry Cordes. I am really angry at the thought of another freeway change affecting my family yet one more time. During my father's lifetime he has relocated his business 3 times. Now, after his death, his family has a chance of loosing approximately 1/4 of our BLM cattle grazing permit. This will not only be an ugly scar on an otherwise beautiful area, but will economically impact not only my family but many others. I want to fight this thing with everything I've got! The right of way at the present location has plenty of room to add additional lanes and will not cost the tax payers a fortune. There are several alternate routes for southbound traffic during construction of the improvements at the existing site. I have been told that Jerry Colangello has bought up the private land in the Bumble Bee area. That would make the new route even worse for the tax payer because a private citizen that's "in the
know" will be making millions at the expense of the tax payers. The Cordes family has always welcomed all vehicles into it's area, we don't lock gates, don't forbid access, or post public land to keep you out. We want our area to have rural access and rural beauty but shudder to think of a massive asphalt ribbon intruding on our open spaces. Let the traffic stay at it's present sight.
