View Full Version : Sedona trail runs, Nov. 4th

Ok, so after putting a feeler in the general discussion I think we have enough people for a good run. This will be the "official" sign up. Details....
Date: Sunday November 4th
Where: Sedona
Meeting spot: Bashas shopping center
Time: 8:00 a.m. - whenever
Trails: Broken arrow, cliff hanger, and possibly greasy spoon
....the only thing we need is a trail leader for the day, or or certain trails. I am a little familiar with a couple of the trails, but I'm not confident enough to lead everyone :o. So, if someone wants to volunteer that would be great! :D

I'm a definite maybe. I'm going to be in the area that weekend and have been wanting to do those trails again. I'll post again when I know for sure either way.

I don't know if I will be able to join or lead at this point, but at the very least, you are welcome to use our lot for a meeting spot. And, if no other willing leaders present themselves, we can give you detailed maps and tips--none of those trails are difficult to navigate.

Im in. I could lead Broken arrow and Cliffhanger if nobody else can but I would really prefer not to so I can bring the CJ-5 instead of the TJ. I would rather be able to cruise along behind and nor have anyone counting on me if I am in the CJ...it may or may not even make it down there:o

Cool, the CJ is coming to Broken Arrow then. I haven't done any rocks in it yet, just Cinders and Forest Roads...this should be fun.
Farabee's might be the best place to meet.

Thanks Nena, we will just meet at Farabee's then. Also, we will be on CB channel 4. Or, you can reach me on my cell (928) 600-3195. I have never run Cliff Hanger, where is it by? Is it far out of town?
Hopefully some more of us will be able to make it.

Well, looks like we have a lot of maybe's. I know there is also 1 other maybe from NAXJA. So, it looks like so far we have rick leading the way, and myself and captain to follow.

Where is Farabee's? I just got wind of this from the NAXJA posting (should'a seen it here first) and am interested in at least part of the run (maybe the first run, but bug out for the second run) in my 93 XJ to test out the new lift.

Looks good, personally large groups at Broken Arrow aren't the best, it is better suited to smaller groups.
I am planning to come but it is now definitely going to be in the CJ. The TJ broke down again so it can't come.
I have to replace the motor mounts and do some other little things but I think it will make it...knock on wood. I cant wait to drive a really short wheelbase jeep out there.

That's what I was thinking. I am hoping we can get everybody on the trail in a reasonable and timely fashion. Maybe we can run it and be done with BA before the Pink jeeps flood the trail. It looks like there are 5 of us so far, so that's not too bad. None of the tour guides like us "jeepers" really anyways

I met a few who were totally cool, one was like "nice jeep man" and whatnot, then others get all pissy when you move aside to let them by...
I hope I can make it...I got a few oil leaks but they aren't that bad. I am gonna work on it until the trip so hope fully I can make it. What's funny is I know it can handle the trail, it is the road out I worry about...I have to say it makes B.A. more of an adventure.

The pink jeep guides we've talked to were really nice. After talking CA's (Tera vs RE) we followed one out from Chicken Point. He even asked if we wanted pictures of my wife & I coming down an obstacle. He spotted me down (my first time) and snapped away. He thought it was pretty cool that for our 10th Anniversary we went on the Jeep tour. Then on our 17th we came back with our own Jeep!

ps. I was hoping to go on this run, but I HAVE to attend a wedding that day.

No, I have to go to phx for a wedding, I was supposed to run smasher canyon on the 10th too !
Those are only a very small sample of pics we took on sunday. Creekside around homestead was so beautiful with the leaves in full color and everything. Great trip all around....fun wheeling, beautiful scenery, great company, and no trail damage......oops....well, except for ricks windshield :(.
