TanTJJim and I are going to be headin out to Upper Woody " http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/showthread.php?t=13850" and what ever else we can run in the little amount of time we have on Wednesday morning.

This is an open invite to come play in the middle of the week.

We will be heading out and meeting at the first flagpole at "or around" 8am and I need to be back in Chandler at 2pm.

As always we'll be on CB channel 4.

So..... Who wants to go play????

Drat on you guys... :( I am in union/management meetings all day. Pppffffftttt....

Just curious - I have never run UW, but I thought I saw something that looks like "firehole" off of Martinez. Is this the start of UW?

TanTJJim
10-22-2007, 10:56 PM
I'm not that great with directions but the beginning of UW is further West of Martinez. Don't quote me on that though. I do know that the firehole is up the trail a ways, window rock is right at the beginning of the trail.

And yet another time I'll miss wheeling with you Allen, and you were the one that talked me into making the run Saturday night and you didn't show:( J/K I'm sure I'll see you on the trail soon.

GRUNT

I planned on going! I promise! Jeez, you have already forgotten about me anyway, I see you are hanging with cj5nut now... :D j/k

We will meet again my friend. Now you have been through those you can lead me. Between our tools and spares we should be okay.

:D:D:D

After seeing what happened to a certain white tj on ck it got me thinking. I now have a lower control arm bracket sitting in the back of my jeep....seriously. There used to be two but I used one already:(

GRUNT
10-22-2007, 11:16 PM
Geez, don't make me come bail you out too! :D That was a tuff fix but we got it. I look forward with running with you again.
Side note - Did you have a lift that night? I can't remember...

TanTJJim
10-22-2007, 11:22 PM
Yeah, it was lifted then. Come to think if it I don't think anything has really changed since then. I've been spending more money on spare parts, recovery gear, etc lately. And the control arm bracket got replaced in the shop before it had a chance to detach itself on the trail.

Still dont have my shackels or new tires yet but I might show just depends on what the wife wants me to do I will call you in the morning Jim. By the way you get a new tierod yet

TanTJJim
10-23-2007, 06:32 PM
Hope you can make it Kevin. Looks like it will just be me and Shawn so far. And yes, I got a new tie rod today, that was an ordeal. I ordered one Monday from Tempe Dodge, they said it would be in Tues afternoon. I call today at 3pm and they accidentally sent it to Superstion Springs, great:mad: So I leave work a little early to run and pick it up so I can put it on tonight before the run. Allen told me about a heavier duty replacement that he found so I'll get one of those on order soon too, now all I need is 413 spare tires to take with me and I should be good to go:D

TanTJJim
10-23-2007, 11:05 PM

I had a great time today even though I didnt drive I was the spotter/picture taker. Jim and Shawn did great today. With his front locker in and a little goating from me about my 11 year old taking some of the lines that he was going to bypass, Jim let it all hang out today and Shawn made the harder lines look easy and although I did my best to spot him cleanly over the fire hole we had a little difficulty because of the soot from the burned out forester on the approach face and caused him to slide a little to far left but with a little forward thinking by Jim we managed to get him through it without him completely falling in.
We ran the trail clean and in about 2 1/2 hours like I said it was a great time

If I would have had my jeep we could have cleaned up some of the other debris around there, the alternator, radio, steel belts from the tires, partially melted rim, and some other stuff just laying around there.

Maybe an FJ cleanup is in order soon

Kevin, I will call!! Maybe you can bring your kid and he can show us all how to wheel!! :D

Jim, I just barely made it!! It was my fault though because standing around bs'ing is addictive to me!!! :D

TanTJJim
10-29-2007, 04:39 PM
Glad you made it there on time. I'm guilty of standing around and bs'ing forever too, if you didn't look at the time we'd probably still be out there:)
